Strief re-signed on 1 year deal

He just tweeted ...

Who Dat

Methinks he may have re-signed.

Crusader 08-01-2011 04:26 PM

That would be good news. He is a solid backup and I like the sets when he comes in and we run the ball.

Keeping most of last years team intact is always good news, especially with the lockout this year

DaGoldenDB 08-01-2011 04:35 PM

yea he signed

papz 08-01-2011 04:38 PM

I hope he catches a TD pass this year.

Saints agreed to terms with OT Zach Strief on an undisclosed contract.

The five-year veteran didn't draw a tender from the Saints in March, but he ended up unrestricted anyway. He's likely returning to back up Jermon Bushrod and Jon Stinchcomb at a salary closer to $1.5 million.

64 is eligible!!!!!

Speedy Ron 08-01-2011 05:34 PM

aka the dancing bear in my section. good signing...i hope he gets a td this year

Cruize 08-01-2011 05:49 PM

I personally believe the Saints would be better with him starting at RT. I think Stinchcomb is a good player and a great locker room guy. But, I truly believe Strief is a better RT. He's a mauler in the run game and has held his own at LT facing some great pass rushers like Peppers.

I still remember him coming in for Jamaal Brown when we faced the bears in 2008, he really did a great job.
I agree that he is a solid tackle, let him battle for the starting position and the better man will get the starting spot.

Stinchcomb will probably be healthier and therefore a better player than last year. I like when we bring Strief in the game......something good is usually going to happen.

That would be awesome!

Big relief considering he is probably the best backup at four spots (LT, LG, RG, RT)

Calm down sky!! Lol.

What's cool is at Phil's Grill on Severn in Metairie they have a burger named "64 is eligible"

Maverick2299 08-01-2011 08:56 PM

well all that doubt about us signing our free agents. I think we have gotten almost every one we wanted and then some. Only missing 2 or 3 more we gotta sign back.

QBREES9 08-01-2011 11:51 PM

I love it.

Crusader 08-02-2011 01:03 AM

One more done. NEXT!

BringTheWood 08-02-2011 01:52 AM

Good resigning. Hard to find ANYONE with the versatility this guys brings, and with starter quality by most teams standards. Great signing.
