JP; Charleston, Mitchell, Waters are not signed (A/O this writing). Romeus may go on either IR or PUP given he hasn't practiced to date due to rehabing a knee.
Plus, Safeties Amaya and Oliver will be in play. Don't forget the LS Drescher. ![]() New Orleans Saints free agency tracker | NOLA.com |

Hey fellow Saints fans!
I'm a first time poster, but a long time lurker on these forums, and I've been a fan & close follower of the Saints since around 1998 ("Ditka era"). I had couple of things to add... C Matt Tennant -> C Cecil Newton Although he was probably mainly brought in as a camp body, I guess he could serve as the backup for Tennant if Goodwin doesn't return and no other FA is brought in by the FO. And additionally he could also take up Tennant's duties on the ST. Naturally this would make the position a possible liability, but if the gap doesn't allow anymore big moves than I guess this would be what the Saints have at the moment. And what about this Ryan Taylor guy... another camp body? DT Sedrick Ellis -> DT Tom Johnson I was under the impression that this guy was a pretty promising 3-tech from the CFL, who had shown alot of promise and could really be a massive "sleeper." Naturally he is still unproven, which might be why he was not posted in the above depth chart. According to the above highlights he seems to have that explosiveness off the line that could make him a good rotational guy for Ellis with a slightly bigger frame at 6-foot-3. Although, I'll be the first to admit that the CFL O-Lines really aren't true comparisons for their NFL counterparts. He apparently spent some time with the Colts before going to the CFL where he was a "West Division All-Star" for what it's worth. But, I believe you guys would know more about him than I do? Also, as an afterthought, I read somewhere that Cameron Jordan can supposedly slide to DT as well, but since I haven't seen any of his College games at California... I don't know for sure whether it's true or not. Anyway... just my two cents. |
