This would be awesome!

Cool sign him

Let the young guy have a shot. The Saints can get a serviceable veteran center if they have too. Stinchcomb could probably slide inside if need be.

I can see the validity of both alternatives. Tennant might be ready for the job, but there's always the danger of rushing him in and in the process destroying his self-confidence and ultimately risking losing the promising young man. I mean Goodwin waited two years behind Faine before stepping up, so it might be wise to stick to that formula since it worked out pretty nice last time. Signing Kreutz to a 1-year deal would give Tennant another year to learn from a pro, and who would know more about succeeding in the center position than Kreutz?
In the end SP will make the decision based on what he sees at camp, and he might also talk with Brees about it, but if he doesn't feel Tennant is ready to start then he'll make a move for a FA - and conversely if he decides to go with Tennant it probably means that he is ready to take up the anchor role and we have nothing to worry about. In SP we trust! |
i guess theyre not too impressed with Tennant. i read a quote from tennant and he doesnt seem to have alot of confidence. Kreutz is good but im wondering why Bears would let such a bad @$$ go?

Losing out on a potential HoFer for our young center to learn behind a season or so, and losing out on having depth at center... Sounds like the best move for the team would be to sign Kreutz, and if that young man doesn't like it he can take a shot to the mouth and then go sit with the rest of the backups and learn from the best until his number is called. |
