Shackle that man, the game is OVER!!!

Alaska

BringTheWood 08-05-2011 02:47 PM

I'm a true believer. I want so bad for this guy to be a 15+ touch guy a game. He flat out wears defenders down and won't be denied yards. Please stay healthy Chris, we need you.

BringTheWood 08-05-2011 03:01 PM

Here's the line that makes the hairs on my neck stand up. 716 yards on 137 carries for a 5.2 average. Those are top notch numbers.

strato 08-05-2011 03:03 PM

Still our best pure runner...

saintfan 08-05-2011 03:06 PM

I'm really pulling for him. I love the way he runs/takes it to the defenders. Get and STAY healthy Ivory. We need ya man!

Pete 08-05-2011 03:24 PM

Hey Ivory, YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!You couldn't run over a undersized pop warner player during a hurricane with the 100mph wind gust in your back!(But he'd smoke me)

THAT SHOULD DO IT!

GET WELL SOONER THAN LATER POISON IVORY IT'S TIME TO LOWER THE BOOM HOSS!!!!!

pumpkindriver 08-05-2011 03:29 PM

If we can just keep our RB's healthy and on the field, our running game will be top notch for sure.

JoanieNTX 08-05-2011 03:57 PM

Love me some Chris Ivory! ;)

Speedy Ron 08-05-2011 03:59 PM

dude is a beast...wish he wasnt made of glass

JoanieNTX 08-05-2011 04:03 PM

Hoping all of our RB's can stay somewhat healthy this season....we gotta have 'em!

FireVenturi 08-05-2011 05:16 PM

I love him as much as you guys, he is a beast. With that said if he can't get/stay healthy this year, his time as a Saint may be over. It's a shame, he is very talented but had similar health issues at Tiffin.

strato 08-05-2011 05:21 PM

The RB coach needs to work his butt off preaching to go down and hit the sidelines after a 40 yard run...prolong that career..

FireVenturi 08-05-2011 05:26 PM

Strato, I don't think that's gonna happen. he doesnt have any Reggie in him!!!

Maybe if anything Reggie taught him that ..we will see.

strato 08-05-2011 05:32 PM

My point was serious...my brother had a kid on his pee wee league team that had to be taught to go down...he was just like Ivory except 12 years old..after pounding that in his head he got the idea..and they won the Pee Wee league Superbowl in the Cajun Dome in Lafayette...

Chris will learn...you can be a bruiser just be a smart one..

Rugby Saint II 08-05-2011 05:40 PM

The running back position was decimated with injuries last year. We don't know how durable Ingram will be but he has stayed relatively healthy in college. Pt should still be the feature back to start.

The way it'll shake out is Ingram and Pt will split carries depending on who's got the hot hand. If one of our backs go down we will still have a powerful 1-2 punch. If we rotate them and keep them fresh we should have a very good running game. Let's not forget about Hamilton or that other kid who got hurt at TC last year. I don't remember his name but he ran well.

AlaskaSaints 08-05-2011 06:15 PM

Great point, Rugby.

Then, next play, 3rd and 6, Ivory lines up behind Brees. Graham right, off-tackle, Meachem and Colston wide-outs.

As an opposing Linebacker; What the HELL you gonna call now, bud!!!????

Alaska

strato 08-05-2011 06:28 PM

Hamilton is gone...Bell is still here...P.T will get his touches...But Ingram providing he can pick up the blitz will be the main back....once we wear them down then we have many options..health is the key

Boutte 08-05-2011 09:56 PM

Sadly I think Ivory is going to be a one hit wonder. Such a shame. Poor kid.

saintsfan1976 08-05-2011 09:57 PM

"True Beast"? Are you high??? lol

Sorry but Ivory has had one good (okay, decent) season (okay, semi-season) in his entire football career.

Let's not go anointing him or anything.

QBREES9 08-05-2011 11:05 PM

Chris Ivory Very Impressive. Get him on that field.

True.. but he is fun to watch and really is a good back..I dont think we have seen the last of C.H....lets see what happens with his rehab..he might really help us ..like last year..

The Dude 08-06-2011 12:40 AM

He was an UDFA for a reason. He could not stay healthy in college and can't now. A back can have all the talent in the world, but if he cannot stay on the field he is useless. Ivory just may be this guy. His body is just not built to match his heart and talent. Additionally the injury he had is very hard for even a resilient player to come back from, it has ended many careers and is one of the more serious injuries a player in his position can get. The cards are stacked against him.

He went to Tiffin,,,thats why he was a UDFA..you can bet if he played at say Boise St or Texas..he would have been a 2nd or 3rd round pick..that has nothing to do with it...he made the team by making yards...

Ivory rushed for 757 yds and 4 TD's in his ENTIRE college career.

You call that a 3rd round pick? lol

strato 08-06-2011 10:20 AM

I said if he went to a major U he would have ..did you read the post..or are you too busy thinking you know all?...

Maybe living in Atlanta is getting to your head ...lol

Danno 08-06-2011 03:34 PM

Don't sleep on Bell. He's a longshot for the 4th spot, but I like what I hear about him.

Ashley 08-06-2011 09:03 PM

Ivory runs hard... flat out hard. can't wait tell he gets in better health, and stays on the field
