Sproles is here now and as long as he can stay on the field, he's better in my book. Plus he has a knack for returning kicks, so no more holding my breath with Bush standing back there...

Amen brother, and he shuts up the Bushies.

But yet the haters still hate ..why is that Danno?...oh and nothin wrong with a Bushie;)

I never loved Bush as a player. Since rarely watch college football (unless LSU is doing well) I had no expectations. All hype actually made me more skeptical. But I did get caught up in it during that 1st preseason schedule.

There were lots of times I cursed his name. But I did come to appreciate what he offered. I still think he's the best 3rd down back in the league. But I'm glad everything worked out like it did. Welcome aboard Darren!

He had moments of greatness, but moments. But I agree you cant compare Sproles and Bush yet. Give Sproles a year with Brees and Sean first. I think we will use him better here then in SD

But if you do, there stats are very close....but Sproles has a better YPC AVG.

Sproles has a better average for rushing, receiving and punt returns.

^ listen to the voice of reason, people.

+1

I always appreciated what reggie gave to us. Was he perfect? Of course not. Who among you are? Lets see THAT list.

People have expectations. Thing is, they have them from their COUCH.

Fair enough, but if you re-read your post, it implied that we will win less without him. Like I said, I thought he was piece of the puzzle to our winning. Not as important as Brees or Thomas, IMO, but he was used to the best of his abilities. Now with an improved front 4 on D, and the addition of Ingram and Kreutz on O, I think were in better position now than we were during our 2009 season.

I don't think this topic will ever die until game 8 ,lol., and god help sproles if he gets injured. But I do believe Reggie is the better athlete , and sproles is the better team player. Reggie was always more than we needed for that position, and sproles is a perfect fit for it. Reggie needs to go and experiment with what he is capable of. He should have picked a better team though.
Hes no Jim Brown. I have no idea how good reggie can be , if forced to play 20-40 touches, guess we will find out.
But, sproles is a perfect fit for what we do on offense, and known as a perfect team player. Plus sproles is not over kill for the position, like reggie, and maybe has 4 good years left in him with the limited touches he will have.
Im perfectly happy to have the little lightning bug on our team.

The one negative stat is he fumbles every 30 touches compared to Reggie's every 45 touches and we thought Reggie fumbled too much.

But all but two of them were on kick-offs, which I'm not sure he's even going to do here.

In 6 years he's only fumbled twice from the line of scrimmage.

Sproles will be a more productive football player on the field. The biggest difference is that Bush has national "star power" that brought a lot of attention and cache to the Saints. We'll miss the "Hollywood" buzz that came with Bush but we won't miss anything with Sproles on the football field.
