You know what you've got with the New Orleans Saints offense, a great quarterback, a good group of receivers, a solid running game and the ability to score a lot of points. (Check out our game updates here).
New Orleans Saints tight end Tory Humphrey (84) celebrates with running back Mark Ingram (28) after Ingram scores on a 14-yard run, his first TD as a pro. The question mark coming into this season was how well the defense, which had a fairly complete makeover in the offseason, would come together. Against the San Francisco 49ers in the first preseason game of 2011, it was the defense that looked more ready for the regular season, as it dominated when the first teams were on the field, and the Saints won 24-3. Saints defenders got six sacks in the first half, one each by defensive ends Will Smith and Jeff Charleston, safety Roman Harper, linebackers Jonathan Casillas and Jo-Lonn Dunban and defensive lineman Mitch King. Scoring came from a surprise player -- undrafted rookie Joseph Morgan on a 71-yard punt return -- and expected -- drafted rookie Mark Ingram on a 14-yard run up the middle. Some other notable players in this game were: Joique Bell with 52 yards rushing, Chase Daniel 13-21 for 129 yards, Courtney Roby and Tory Humphrey with four catches each and Mitch King with three tackles and good push up the middle. read more |

Yeah, 1st team off. was out of sync, but thats why they practice and play these preseason games. The Def. was all over it though and ST wasn't too bad either. The O will get it together soon.

Did I ever mention that I hate preseason games?
If everybody knows, including management and the league office, that this is what you are going to get in at least the first 2 preseason games, how can they justify charging full price for a ticket? They could have accomplished the same thing as they did last night under the lights of a practice field and called it practice and the people who came to watch would have been allowed in free. Now that would have been worth it. |

We need to temper everything we say on the fact that we played the WHiners last night -
I was unfortunate enough to have the Whiner's feed (explain that when I live in Florida??) BUT I can tell you it was VERY hard for them to find much positive from last night!! |
