Monday Night Countdown

Hey! Why is Parcells on Monday Night Countdown in place of Mike Ditka? I've never liked Parcells and his "I'm smarter than everyone else." attitude.

Total Access is on NFLN, slightly better than ESPN in my opinion...

Maybe, but I like "C'MON MAN". :)
Anyone know if parcells is a permanent replacement?

Chris mort just tweeted that Ditka's took the night off, not permanent.

There is a soft spot in my heart for C'MON MAN, and you can get the good parts of Total Access (read: the Saints segments) on nfl.com without any of the fluff.

Well to his defence he is smarter than most everyone else. I think he's usually pretty funny.

Not a fan of either coach...

IN fact there are not a lot of "former" coaches I like listening too.

I LOATH "Chucky" on MNF. He is one of those I am smarter then you - guys & HE didn't really win the superbowl with TB he just happened to pick up a really good team that was behind by Dungy!!

Wow. I actually like Gruden on MNF. He's a character and he knows the game. Then again, I kinda liked Dennis Miller too. LOL I just couldn't stand Tony Kornhole...he made me angry. LOL

I'm with you saintfan; i like Gruden and Dennis Miller was too smart for the majority of the MNF crowd.

Miller is funny as hell on Fox's O'rieley show though.

I like Gruden. Almost never says anything bad about anyone. He could probably explain why the waterboy was important to winning a Super Bowl.

I enjoy Gruden. Major upgrade to Kornholer. And I'm okay when people like the Tuna and Gruden act like they know more than I do, mainly because they do know more than I do.

Though I will agree Gruden lucked out that year. Not only in inheriting a great team from Dungy, but then getting the perfect matchup in the Super Bowl. I don't think any other team could have beat the Raiders that year. Gruden was going up against the team he was head coach of the year before. The Raider's HC was his former OC, they were running Gruden's offense. He knew the schemes, the verbage, the coaches, the offensive and defensive players, all their strengths and weaknesses. Gruden could have done the game planning off the top of his head and been better prepared than any other coaching staff that spent weeks drowning themselves in tape of the Raiders.
