Jon Stinchcomb's 2011 salary was not guaranteed with New Orleans Saints
Great News!!!
Reports that Jon Stinchomb's 2011 salary was guaranteed were not accurate. The New Orleans Saintswill save $2.25 million this year after releasing the eight-year veteran on Monday. Apparently, Stinchcomb's contract originally called for a guaranteed salary this season, but the guarantee was voided after he received a $5.5 million "completion" bonus in 2010. The Saints will still be charged about $2.5 million against the salary cap this year to account for the pro-rated portion of earlier bonuses paid out to Stinchcomb. And next year, they will be charged the remaining pro-ration amount of around $5 million. But they did save $2.25 million against this year's cap by releasing him.
