It seems to me the offense struggled at camp in '09 when GW brought his defense to play his first year. The competition will only make the Oline better and learn how to play together in a hurry.

I was wondering the same thing, but I remember as the preseason went we really looked in tune. I am hoping that in the next two games we really show some consistency.

Rugby, I hope you are right about this. Because, I remember it the other way around. I seem to recall our O having an extreme tightness, and I remember there being a buzz in camp about how "on" our O was. Nothing was hitting the ground.

So, maybe I am wrong in my recollection. Hoping your memory is better than mine on this front!!!

LOL, yes its sort of like holding him back to not give up what he is capable off until the games start after how many years he has put up gawdy numberts...

Although we could go with Chase as the starter... I mean at this point Chase has more "upside".

I don't know whether to agree with you or slap you until your teeth rattle.

I know your joking, but I don't fully agree with your definition of "upside," because as I see it Daniels doesn't have the skill-set or the potential to ever reach the level that Brees is at this moment or will be when he finally retires someday.

When I mention the "upside" of a certain player, I always refer to his potential to be better than the other guy I'm comparing him to. As I understand it, you consider the whole concept of "upside" as ridiculous, and like to evaluate players based on their abilities and performance at the current moment with no regard to the near future. Still, I would think that there is something to be said about thinking ahead, which is how "dynasty-like" franchises are made.

Please don't take this as an attack on your point of view... just as a comment to your previous comments about the subject.

Chase does have some upside, but his ceiling is likely still way below Drew's.
