I AM SO GEEKED OUT RIGHT NOW
I dunno if this thread needs to be moved-- if so, ok put it where
it belongs! I just got home from the last day of camp! Oh, MAN THAT WAS FUN! AND I GOT TO SHAKE DREW'S HAND! AND HE SIGNED MY HAT!!!!!!!!! I'm a grown woman and I'm just doofy with joy right now. That was 100% worth it. If you're a fan who has thought about going to camp and never gone, do yourself a favor and make it a goal to go next year. Yes, it's hot out there. Yes, it gets uncomfortable. But today I saw catches made from angles I would never ever EVER be able to see any other way. I got to meet lots of the players, and just hang out with lots of other people who love the Saints and are friendly and casual and helpful to each other. It's a true Saints community out there, and worth whatever you have to do to get there. Wow. I shook Drew's hand. GEEKED GEEKED, AND DOUBLE GEEKED.:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen: |
Was Brees passing percentage on today?

they were playing near me, he missed one, (threw it way above and off to the side of the receiver,) and had one intercepted. All the rest after that were spot on, and abso-freakin-lutely gorgeous. |
Good for you Allsaintss66 good for you. It must haven been cool

Ok so now that I have CALMED DOWN A LITTLE BIT I can
also report meeting and getting autographs from: Olin Kreutz: Very cool guy-- said he loved the food here so far. : ) Kolby Hurt: Also very sweet, 'seemed shy but loves the fans. Zach Strief: God bless 'im! Love that dude! Man he's BIG!!! Clint Ingram: He was really enjoying talking to the fans, and had a nice long conversation with the guy next to me, who was teasing him that Oregon was gonna whip Oklahoma. Clint said, "No way! Oklahoma's goin' all the way this year!" Fun to hear that energy! Greg Romeus: Now that is ONE. BIG. MAN. Dude's arms are as big around as my LEGS are!!! Patrick Robinson: Just seemed really shy and polite but also really loving interaction with the fans. Joique Bell: Way humble. Very polite and fun. Dude is built like a freakin' steamshovel man. And he was a workhorse in practice today. Really cool to see. ... and of course there was Drew... so gracious. So patient. And so amazingly humble. I'm tellin' you people. If you've never gone to camp, and it interests you in the least little bit: GO. It's an experience like no other for a football fan. Especially a Saints fan. Just know though-- if you take your kids, the coaches DO NOT CENSOR THEIR LANGUAGE. This is the real deal out there folks, no messin' around. And it ain't just Gregg Williams, neither! I sure hope I sleep tonight. *laughing* |
That sound very very cool. I think we'd all act like that if all could shake his hand.

Keyword, geek.
:^p I've had many opportunities to get autographs from many folks. (sports stars, musicians, etc) but never did. Never crossed my mind to ask them but I wasn't there as a "fan" (Backline & production workers, sound engineers never ask for autographs because it is pretty much an unwritten code of ethics... not to.) Don't get me wrong... good for you, as a fan. I bet it was the 37 gazzillionth autograph he's had to sign since the Super Bowl. Don't you dare ever eBay it. :/ |
Nobody better tell breesfan or there'll be trouble 'round here. :-)

Glad you enjoyed it. That was a day you will never forget.
One thing I will never forget at camp was standing next to Norman Hand years ago. I was about the size of that man's leg. I'd trade it for a Brees handshake in an second though. Good for you. |

It sound like you had a good time. LOL

Good for you... I feel a bit envious.
I liked your comments on player's performances and personalities. On that note, what was the first string O-Line on the last day? And did they work on some personnel variations on that first string? |

I am truly envious. I was unable to make camp this year and it's really killing me. I don't even get the games locally where I am. Enjoy all your goodies.:-D

had to break the bank for NFL Sunday Ticket, too-- if I wanted to see Saints games every Sunday. It's a horrible way to live. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope you can make camp some year soon, and if you want to, I hope you can get to where all you have to do to see a Saints game is drive down the street or turn on your TV. Black and Gold Love to all the suffering Saints fans out there who have to watch from afar, pay through the nose to see the games, and who previously couldn't even hear WWL while you watch the games like you're "supposed to". (I know plenty people who don't do it, but I love it, m'self.) Now that WWL is streaming the games, maybe you can. Anyway, I do feel for y'all, and I'm sure the spirit of my posts was for people who've never been, or who've been too afraid to go for whatever reason, but I never even thought about what they might mean to people who CAN'T go because of health or distance or all those other things life can bring. I hope it made ya smile, even through the envy. :red: |
