It did look like attendance was light, so Im wondering if Saints fans
owned it by the end of the game?

Yes, Saints fans owned it by the end - thanks for asking. Even the infamous black hole was empty. I dont know what actual attendance was but it did feel very lite. Good tickets were certainly easy to come by.

The economy in Oakland is pretty bad - and their fans seem pretty crestfallen (who can blame them really) It is one thing to have a legacy of being the leauge doormat and still selling out your stadium - but to have the illustrious history of the raiders and just be that bad - must be tough for fans and former fans alike.

As for the reputation of Oaksterdam -
They have a new (to me anyway) text service if you feel you are being harassed you text your seat number and I guess security comes. Personally I prefer to work things out as individuals rather than call an authority figure.

The made several announcements for people to be nice and "Neighborly"

In the parking lot they were announcing in regular intervals on a prerecorded message - that (among other things) no weapons in the collision.

Several Oaklanders felt a need to assure me that they were not all thugs like the media portrays.

I sat on the Visitors side where it was all black, gold and mardi gras beads
Lots of who dat chants.

I would go again.

"no weapons in the colliseum" -- hahahahaha...

Thats like when you see a sign in front of a hotel that says,

"No drugs, No Guns, No Prostitution" hahahahaha...

Its like, "Oh Honey, this looks like a nice place to stay...."

seriously, good to hear the Raiders people are trying to get their rep fixed. you're as good as your name.

The good people in Oakland, and yes there are some, are scared. They are leaving in droves - those that can anyway. The gangs have completely taken over parts of the city.

It's sad what it has become. I've only been out here a couple years, but you can see what it used to be. It sure as hell ain't no more.
