The Packers
The Packers looked very good tonight in the first half against the Colts. Rodgers was hot with Finley and Nelson being open multiple times. They are going to be hard for the Saints to cover. The one negative about their offense, and Payton should get in the refs ear early, is that their LT Clifton is a holding machine even though he was only flagged one time. Their defense is all about the pressure and they do it very well. The were in Painter's face before he was even planting. The Saints game plan in two weeks should be run heavy. The best way to slow down pass rushers is to make them play the run. Plus, rushing the passer will open up some running lanes for Ingram and Thomas and could lead to some big plays. Limit Rodgers touches. Keep the defense as fresh as possible and get out of Green Bay with a leg up on homefield advantage. WHO DAT!

I'm hoping we have Smith's suspension delayed so that he could play in the game.
They're a really good team, but we've beat them before. If we did lose to them the first week though, I would not be surprised nor discouraged... unless it's a total beatdown. |

This is one of those games that is a win-win to me. There is no better time in the season to face the Packers in my opinion. They are a great team, but catching them early is nice. We win and we are immediately the team to beat in the NFC. God forbid we lose, but on that chance we do so to the reigning champs and get to fly under the radar for a time. The media love fest can center on others and we've played the best and can groom our game to defeat that.

ESPN would have a heart attack if we won.
All aboard the bandwagon ship after that. |
