OG - Nicks, Evans, de la Puente
C - Kreutz, Tennant

DE - Smith, Brown, Jordan, McBride, Galette
DT - Rodgers, Ellis, Franklin, Miller,
OLB - Wilson, Cassilas, Shanle, Herring, Bussey
MLB - Vilma, Dunbar
CB - Greer, Porter, Robinson, Patrick, Torrence
S - Jenkins, Harper, Amaya, Prioleau,

SPT - Hartley, Morstead, Drescher

IR - Fayson, Johnson.
PUP - Ivory, Romeus.
PS - Canfield, Hall, Lorenzen, King , Quddus, McBride, Gay, Humber.

-They won't keep two FB's.
-Thomas can lineup at KR and Moore can return punts until Morgan is healthy. Arrington just has more value at WR than Roby.
-I like Foster over Black but they're pretty much the same. The Saints will be looking for OT's that get cut though.
-I put de la Puente there because he's more a natural G than Tennant and the Saints can't open the season with Nicks injured and the only backup at G is also the only backup at C.
-I think Galette is on the bubble but will make it due to Smith's looming suspension.
-I put Miller over Johnson mostly due to Johnson being injured but Miller has made plays all preseason.
-I put Romeus on PUP instead of IR because he's elgibile and if he's healthy in six weeks he absolutely could contribute. If not then IR.
-I put Bussey active over Reis because of his upside. Special teams are less important and Reis has no potential at S.
-The practice squad always changes and the Saints will be looking for another young OT, TE, DT and CB who will become available after the cuts.

This looks good and about what I had in mind too. Except, like Danno mentioned already, Johnson will make the roster instead of Miller. Also, Morgan will be on the IR because of the surgery.

Miller's talent level plus mobility is nowhere near what Johnson brings to the table when healthy, and he made those plays against the Raiders because he wasn't blocked. Whether it was by design or because he was so slow of the line that it confused the guard doesn't really matter.

The point is that I think King is closer to getting the job than Miller, but both are behind Johnson, and not the least because of the monetary investment that the Saints made in him. The only way he doesn't make the roster on week 1 is if he isn't healthy enough to play, but he should be according to the assessment made when he hurt his calf.

I would also like to see Hall signed, but I guess 2 FBs is unlikely these days.

This could be his down fall..Miller probably beats him out..

I think later today.

I know a lot of teams head coaches are having a press conference around 4 or 5pm announcing their official roster.

Yeah, but he's supposed to be ready when the season starts. Miller is just too slow to be effective against first string O-Lines. Remember that Miller hasn't faced the first string guys, but against SF TJ did, and he played really well. If the Saints cut him, he'll be signed instantly by some other team and the Saints lose the almost 2M they payed him in signing bonuses.

Really?! I really haven't seen that in the games. King is faster than Miller, but Johnson is faster than both.

I'm just afraid of losing this guy to another team where he'll be a dominant DT, if not this year then in years to come. And this is where his worth really is for me, because he has great potential and all the things he could improve on with a year to play behind Rogers, Franklin and Ellis. The Saints might lose both Rogers and Franklin after this season, and then Johnson could step up as a replacement starter.

But I guess we'll find out later today what they decide to do.

Up until just recently(after the Oakland game), I had no idea who this Miller guy was. So about playing well all offseason, that's the first I've heard of it. I don't think Miller makes the team just because he had two sacks against the Oakland Raiders. I think King is first in the pecking order, followed by Johnson, then Miller... imo.

We'd be in trouble if we were looking for sacks from our tackles. =/ I find his size very intriguing though.
