I'm probably guilty of "banging the drum" when it comes to Tom Johnson, and I'm not apologizing about it one bit.
TJ is head & shoulders above both King and Miller, and if you're afraid of facing Miller on some other team if the Saints cut him... well I'm terrified of the Saints letting TJ slip from their hands and having to face him down the line for seasons to come. And to the point of which players have the support of the coaching staff - this is from SP's practice recap from 8/16:
Payton Recaps Tuesday's Practice I know it was after the SF game and he hasn't played since, but that's more praise than I've heard of either Miller or King. Also, I can't get past the fact that those plays where Miller got his sacks were really weird with him getting of the line very slow and the O-Line virtually not blocking him... I wonder if it was by design? I personally don't think so, and that would not happen against the 1st string guys. OK. Clearly I've chosen my horse in this race and I agree with you guys that I'll cheer for any and all of them if they get to wear the black & gold jersey. |

Our latest blowout in recent memory, pre-season or not, and a guy gets two sacks in 3 plays.
That's where I'm all in. Agreed. We (collectively) will back whomever they put on the line, for sure. Also agreed, it could be a fluke. Tomorrow night will tell for sure. Then the sacrificial lambs get cut away to create this year's Championship team. Alaska |
