Bradley Handwerger / WWLTV.com Sports Reporter

METAIRIE, La. – For the likes of Drew Brees and Jonathan Vilma, Thursday’s preseason finale against Tennessee is rather worthless. Both will spend most, if not all, of the game on the sideline, baseball cap affixed to their noggins.

But for a player like Nate Bussey, one of the Saints’ 7th-round picks this past April, the game could make his fall.

Well the final game of the preseason is finally here... What I have seen so far is an Offense and a defense, that really hasn't showed anybody much. With very basic play calling. Need for concern, I don't think so. We managed to get though so far with just a few nicks and small injuries..

Looking ahead to the season. I feel our running game is gonna really be something special.. With Thomas and Ingram working together, this should help in keeping them fresh for the whole season. Throw in Bell and that also could be a big help.. Then There's Sproles, the ultimate 3rd down back. I v'e said for years he reminds me of Dave Meggett. He can run to the outside and turn the corner, or he can catch the ball in the screen package, or he can get the ball 5 yards down the field.. All in all this will open up our receiver's deep down the field..

On defense I think we will be in very good shape.. We have improved the D-line. We have depth there now, which will help us get through a long season. Though we didn't go out and get a big name outside LB. I think we will be in good shape here as well.. If Casillas plays up to the level that he is capable of, we will be fine.. Defensive Backs, well we are in good shape here.. We are deep and we have talent here.. I just wish we could get Sharper back for some added insurance here..

I look back at the last couple of years and this may be the best team that has been put together yet.

Barring The injury bug paying us a visit. We could find ourselves back into the NFC championship again..

So get those craw fish boils ready, fire up those grills, make some Gumbo, and jambalaya, and Tap that Keg... Cause this is football season, and Time for the WHO-DAT Nation to roar... Cya at the Superbowl!!!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!

Do we keep 2 or 3 FB's? How many TE's? How many Dline? How many RB's do we keep? God, I'm glad that isn't my decision.

J. Bell, A. Arrington, M. King, and N. Bussey sneak on to the roster.

Yep to all of the above.

Mitch may be the odd man out since we may keep 2 kickers, and he'd be the 10th D-Lineman. We normally keep 8 or 9.

Morgan's injury may encourage the front office to try and sneak him onto the practice squad, so AA may be safe for now. Either way I feel AA will be on someone's NFL roster this year.

My favorite player to watch tonight is Bussey. He's gonna have to stud out to make the 53. I hope he does.
