He was also playing with 3rd string receivers. Hard to judge him when he doesn't get to play with Colston, Moore, Graham and Hendersen.

I totally disagree. Payton and Brees has done a great job with the kid. He has great mechanics. He throws a tight accurate ball. He made quick decisions, had good pocket awareness and had good mobility. He made two bad decisions all night. He didn't get rid of the ball out of the end zone quick enough and he threw against his body back over the middle of the field. Two rookie mistakes. He was 29 out of 39 with atleast 4 drops including an interception and moved the team all night. Frankly, I think he's better than what the Seahawks, 49ers, Redskins and Panthers will be starting opening day.

Did everybody just thoroughly enjoy that game?

Isn't preseason wonderful??? :)

I just don't get it. I guess it's the same with a lot of things in America. We will take what they dish-out in most cases and just go around singing, "La la la".

We should not have to pay to watch an NFL team evaluate their guys that are on the bubble. I say that like I do pay, which I don't...not for a preseason game. The only way I go to one of those is if somebody gives me the tickets and springs for the gas money, concession money, and then beignets on the way home. The beignets would make the trip worth while.

Whatever you do - don't hold back. That would be bad for the soul.

I agree that paying (much) for a preseason game is lame & just naother way to bilk the fans out of thier money BUT it still has it uses.

Got to see a lot of kids working thier butts off for a shot at the bigs!! :)

Now this I totally agree with. How my wife made it through 35 years and counting I have no idea. I don't think I coulda lived with myself for that long.

If the general populous wasn't willing to pay for preseason games, then they wouldn't charge for them.

As for the QBs:
Drew: Top 3
Chase Daniel: Starter for many teams
Canfield: Back-up for most teams with upside. I bet if this were San Fran, Oakland or Cleveland he would have a solid chance to start, though even if he did he probably wouldn't do very well.

Highlite of the night was the one handed stab by AA....That was nice! Everything else sucked balls. Before the game, Bobby Hebert said some thing to the effect that the most important thing to take away from the game would be the turnover ratio. We were something like +1 so far thru the preseason. He said that was a stat that can be more of a state of mind, and even though it is PS, it's important to stay in the positive. I lost track of how many turnovers we had, but I know we aren't in the + anymore!!

I agree. There were several throws that were on the money, or at least very catchable, that were dropped or bobbled. Hard to get a good evaluation of him when he's throwing to guys who don't have a roster spot.

Now, he did make some poor decisions, that's undeniable. But I think, overall, he looked ok for a 3rd. string QB. You'd have to put him out there with the 1's to get a good evaluation. Brees or Daniel would have had a tough time playing with that O.
