what is it about other peoples garbage players that couldnt make a team that is not as good as this one that intrigues people??? i cant think of one player we picked up that was cut during training camp that ever was useful. i willing to bet no one is getting cut because they were too good to play on that team. |

It's not really Payton's MO to do that, unless there is an urgent need. Anybody who comes in now is not gonna know the system, and is going to look lost, like Paul Oliver out there on the field...the other three quarters of the league who are worse than the Saints, the bottom feeders, let them scrabble over the castoffs and marginal guys.

What are you talking about not his mo? They do it every year and even during the season signing players released by other teams to give them a look for example chase Daniels was released by redskins Sean snagged him. We even got bell last year and appear to make this roster at this point

OK -- I'll give you Chase. That's a very good example there, and I overlooked him. Bell has proved to be a gem, but they signed him in January after the Eagles season was over, because at that point the Saints were desperate and signing anything that moved in a running back jersey (which is what I said, to Payton it was an URGENT NEED). It's not like they scooped Bell up a week before the 2010 season started, and he made an immediate impact. That's what I meant. I thought folks were talking here, about people who could be signed, come in and impact the roster NOW.
My larger point was that, I think the team's vision for this season is pretty well set, in Payton's mind. What he is thinking about as a project, for three and four years down the road, well that's anybody's guess, and that's why he is a coaching genius and we're not. I simply meant that it's unless it's URGENT, it's not his MO to sign somebody like that in the first days of September and bring them in TO START, in September. I must have mis-understood what you were referring to in your question. |

Cuts are being posted on various sites.
My experience says I don't trust any of them as accurate. I'm finally beat down. You guys figure out who's on the 53. Allegedly cut... LB Nate Bussey QB Sean Canfield WR Andy Tanner CB Terrail Lambert LS Kyle Nelson C Cecil Newton TE Michael Higgins LB Clint Ingram |
