Saints personnel turnover 2010 to 2011
I have counted 18 players on the Saints 53-man roster currently who were not on the roster at the end of 2010. That is almost a 34 percent turnover of personnel, or about 1/3 of the team. That seems to me like a very large percentage turnover.
Here are the "new" players I have listed: Mark Ingram RB Darren Sproles RB Korey Hall FB Jed Collins FB Brian de la Puente G Olin Kreutz C Turk McBride DE Tom Johnson DT Mitch King DT Shaun Rogers DT Aubrayo Franklin DT Cameron Jordan DE Will Herring LB Martez Wilson LB Ramon Humber LB Johnny Patrick CB Isa Abdul-Quddus S Jonathan Amaya S One of the players above will probably be released once Will Smith comes back from suspension in Week 3 (likely either Mitch King or Ramon Humber), and someone else will have to go if Chris Ivory comes off PUP after Week 6 and onto the active roster (I hate to say it, but probably Joique Bell). I think Isa Abdul-Quddus has made the ballclub to stay, and I don't think the Saints will sign Darren Sharper after the season has begun, unless injuries to safeties require it. |

They are also quite inexpensive, which will help when we have to sign Brees and Nicks, and a couple DT's next season. The core of this team is relatively young. The only aging players that worry me are Smith, Rogers, and Franklin. Looks like D-line will be a priority again next year. |

Our 2006 turnover rate was probably higher... that year we went to the NFC Championship game.
