There will still be stud CD\'s in the second round for us... Best value at 18 is going to be LB DJ Williams

Thats the plan.
When #18 comes around, pick the highest rated overall player on our sheet. If its a LB fine, if its a CB fine. Then use one of the #2\'s on the other position. It\'s still gonna depend on FA pick-ups. If we land a C.Woodson or a Shawn Springs then LB should be a no-brainer with our #1. If we land an Al Wilson or some other stud LB in FA then CB is a no-brainer. I\'d like to see them land a solid CB and a solid LB in FA so we can just pick the best player at 18. Whether its a LB,CB,LT,DT. But that makes too much sense. |

Guys, I gotta tell you, with the $22 million we have available under the cap, I can\'t think of anything more important than:
1. Resigning Darren Howard 2. Signing a true shutdown corner, a la Woodson or Bailey. 3. Signing a PROVEN, ALL-AROUND MLB. After we get those things done, then worry about the draft. I continue to believe that the Saints are a few key players away from real contention. It is unlikely for a team to get more than one player in any given year via the draft who makes a substantial impact in his first year. The further you get from the line of scrimmage the more that statement holds true. SIGN PROVEN PLAYERS in free agency at Corner and MLB. Then use the draft to get a tackle, another corner, a backup for Deuce, a WR, and whatever else you want. That is my rant. |
