Mock Draft link
Since the Saints aren't in the playoffs, again, I thought I'd go look at a mock draft or two since we won't have a lot else to talk about for a while.
This one had some interesting picks. http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/mock_draft.htm My only ground rule is none of the, "No way the CB from Southeast Idaho State finishing school for young ladies makes it out of the 2nd round, much less the second day." I just hate that. Anyway, here are the Saints projected picks. I don't agree with them because it looks like Haslett will still be around, so we'll be picking someone from Georgia and a DT, maybe the same player, but we will take both of those in the first four picks. 18.New Orleans Saints PICK: Chris Gamble, CB, Ohio State Gamble has the athletic ability to be a top CB. The Saints take the potential over the sure thing in Derrick Strait. The Saints have an aging group of CB’s and none of them have shut down ability. Gamble does and though he’s raw, could become the top flight CB the Saints have been looking for. 48.New Orleans Saints PICK: JP Losman, QB, Tulane Let the controvery begin. Local boy Losman has a world of talent, but then again so does Aaron Brooks. What’s clear though is that the Saints and their fans are beginning to tire of Brooks and might not have much more time to turn it around. So they bypass some needs and take out a little insurance policy. 60.New Orleans Saints (via St. Louis) PICK: Dontarrious Thomas, OLB, Auburn With their second 2nd, the Saints get Thomas. It’s unclear whether Sedrick Hodge will be back and both Hodge and Derrick Rodgers have struggled to meet expectations. 81.New Orleans Saints PICK: Ernest Wilford, WR, Virginia Tech Saints get a big target for Aaron Brooks.
