BOO BABY!
TE Boo Williams has earned the right to start after this season. He is difficult for linebackers to cover in space and has become comfortable in the offense. Some think he can produce Pro Bowl numbers if he is a full-time starter. That means veteran Ernie Conwell might have to assume a reduced role, and he should have no problem with that. Conwell no longer is the receiving threat he was during his prime, but he remains a reliable leader.
http://www.foxsports.com/named/FS/NFL/team?statsId=18 It has been said here before that Sloan and Conwell were quality TE's that faultered only once they got to New Orleans, and that their failures might be the fault of Brooks' so-called inability to throw them the ball properly (I'm really not kidding -- that was said here). I can only wonder why it is that Boo Williams didn't seem to have any trouble catching passes from Brooks. Maybe he's just better than Sloan or Conwell. Makes one wonder. |
