Jimmy Graham's touchdown

Did anyone secretly want Matthews? to level Graham after his Aaron Rodgers championship belt taunt?

Just curious.

I did.

WhoDat!656 09-09-2011 02:35 PM

I thought it was very un-professional of him. Especially considering the Saints were playing catch-up the entire game.

bbourque5 09-09-2011 02:47 PM

It was unwarranted, but it really wasn't that big of a deal

Budsdrinker 09-09-2011 03:03 PM

It was just as cheesy as Rodgers coming up with it in the first place!

jcp026 09-09-2011 03:06 PM

I didn't like the celebration, but I don't want anyone on our team getting hit.

Rugby Saint II 09-09-2011 03:28 PM

He's got attitude but we gotta' stay classy.

Saintsfan4ever 09-09-2011 03:30 PM

you wanted Mathews to level Graham? ah come on, it wasn't that bad unless you're a closet cheesehead.

papz 09-09-2011 03:38 PM

Yea I actually did. When that didn't happen, I was hoping someone would grab him by the face mask and rip him an extra blow hole.

bbourque5 09-09-2011 03:52 PM

Papz, it is obviously that time of the month for you and you are overly emotional about retarded things, so you should probably just stop while you are ahead because you are slowly but surely showing that you have no business being on this forum

Watch it..the hammer might fall...and i dont like showboating either..

Budsdrinker 09-09-2011 04:02 PM

Papz maybe a little extreme in wanting Graham to be hit but I do agree that his mocking of Rodgers stupid little championship belt thing was uncalled for especially when your losing. It was just like when a RB that is no longer with us taunted a future hall of fame LB in the 2006 NFC Championship game when we were losing. It's bush league and unprofessional.

NinthWardJay 09-09-2011 04:03 PM

I never in any way shape or form want a player from the opposing team to "level" anyone on my Saints

jnormand 09-09-2011 04:03 PM

Didn't see it.

Overly emotional? How so?

Because I felt that it was classless?
Because I have a lot of respect for the game?
Because I thought it was extremely childish?
Because we were losing and he's showboating?
Because I'm old school?

In baseball, someone would have threw a fastball in his mid section his next time up to bat.

Did my post somehow touch a nerve of yours? Is Jimmy Graham your lost long auntie 3rd nephew's cousin? That single post of mines shows I have no business posting on this forum? Really? Are you being overly emotional about my post? Would you like to teach me the correct way to feel about things? Can you send me you handbook on how to not be so emotional?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry I don't carry a Saints bias.

He don't know who he's talking to, do he? LOL

lynwood 09-09-2011 05:03 PM

I don't think it warrant a hit. He's a rookie and will learn. They do stupid things sometimes. At least he was fired up!!

papz 09-09-2011 05:05 PM

Bill Parcells would have had him by the face mask. Color me different then.

lynwood 09-09-2011 05:08 PM

The coach has every right to "coach" up the rookie. I wouldn't call for the opposite team to manhandle him though. What if he came up with his own dance/celebration move? Would that have been ok? Or are you just upset that he mocked AR?

papz 09-09-2011 05:19 PM

It had nothing to do with what type of celebration move nor would it have mattered who's on the other side of the ball.

Sorry, still would have had no issue if someone popped him like T.O. years ago.

It's Jimmy's second season.

And it was a dumb move, even for a rookie.

Cruize 09-09-2011 05:26 PM

I didn't like it. It was low class and flat out stupid. But, he's young and having passion for the game and competition is not a bad thing.

Danno 09-09-2011 05:27 PM

He's from "The U"... nuff said.

saintsfan1976 09-09-2011 05:28 PM

I'll put it up there with Reggie's "flip" into the endzone at Chicago.

While we were behind.

Like they needed more motivation...

Ashley 09-09-2011 05:53 PM

I laughed at it, it's cheesy but hey we need someone to spark up

|Mitch| 09-09-2011 06:28 PM

I didn't see it as a big deal; I even thought he did it better than Rodgers does it anyway...

Did I think Papz was a little overboard on that? Yes. Do I think some punk who has been been on this board for less than two months is going to start calling out people like Papz and deciding who should or should not be on this board? F*** NO! Go F*** yourself you weasley whiney little punk! Obviously your opinion is worth about as much as a warm bucket of hamster vomit, and less welcome.

And a note to the mods, yeah yeah... Be nice, don't insult people, blah blah. No apologies from me, he deserved it.

I L'dMAO at the hamster vomit. You work in the food service industry, no? This is worrisome on so many levels.

The second quote..well...I mean...can't we all just get along up in heah?

That's funny...

AlaskaSaints 09-09-2011 06:42 PM

All Rodgers had to do would be what I would have done...

Point at the scoreboard.

Class-Less display.

Alaska

alleycat_126 09-09-2011 08:50 PM

Who's freaking side are you guys on. Did you guys forget who trained Jimmy " Superstar " Graham !!!!!! Shockey who is the king of tauntin. They did it a plenty. Finley only caught two balls but he was taunting every time he caught one. Plus the kid had a rough night by his standards he had been held relatively catchless up until that point. Let him taunt. Classless really come on!

jeanpierre 09-09-2011 08:55 PM

You gotta wonder what's wrong with someone that would want one of our own to be injured?!?

lynwood 09-09-2011 08:58 PM

much ado about nothing

Pete 09-09-2011 09:03 PM

Papz is in deep chit!lol I'm planning on getting his jersey soon, but it wasn't the right time to taunt (nor is ever a good time) Celebrate yes Taunt no.Reggie's did come to mind too!
JIMMY! JIMMY! JIMMY!

papz 09-09-2011 09:42 PM

Ya'll acting like I wanted someone to bust a Nancy Kerrigan on him. Nothing wrong with a little jab to clear up his senses. First thing that popped in my mind was that it was something T.O. or DeSean Jackson would do... nothing I'm interested in.

There are unwritten rules in all of sports... like I said, if this was baseball, that's a fastball in the gut. Don't really care that some of you don't like that train of thought... but like I said, I'm more old school and that's exactly what I would have done.

And you know what, I love me some Jimmy Graham... still doesn't make it right.

jbg5119 09-09-2011 09:47 PM

Didn't Freddy Mitchell with the Eagles come up with the championship belt taunt? He called himself the people's champ. It's funny how no one mentions this.

Pete 09-09-2011 09:49 PM

:lolup:NANCY KERRIGAN!

NinthWardJay 09-09-2011 10:38 PM

lol it was a touchdown celebreation, let the man celebrate lol. Its all in competitiveness. Just like whenever anybody scores a touchdown on us im pretty sure they go to the sidelines and yell out "They say who dat.... we dat" ala Miles Austin

saintfan 09-09-2011 10:43 PM

I can see where it would rub some people the wrong way. For me it'd be different if he made it personal with an individual.

Nobody said a thing when our DBs were doing that rope 'em tie 'em gesture - taunting the Viqueens after we intercepted Brittny a couple years ago.

Personally I don't have a problem with it. I might have even done it myself, if I had any talent of course, but that's a different thread. :-)
