COLSTON - BROKEN COLLARBONE, OUT 4 WEEKS
1 Attachment(s)
The Saints' wide receiver corps took a hit on Friday with the news that Marques Colston will be out approximately four weeks with a broken collabone, FOXSports.com has learned.
Colston was hurt during New Orleans' 42-34 defeat at the hands of the Packers on Thursday. Before going down, he caught six passes for 81 yards in the loss. The Saints boast several lethal passing targets, but Colston is generally considered the team's best wide receiver. He has reached 1,000 yards receiving in four of his five seasons. I sure thought collar bones were 6-8 weeks?

We will still be good without him and it's only 4 weeks, Moore should be back next week. We're OK guys and gals. Nothing to fear, nothing at all.
|
Hopefully we can get Moore back this week to help offset his injury...
|
Gotcha covered Danno.

|
Thats what I heard, that sucks for you guys, always liked Colston.
I don't think your recieving corps can get any lighter than it already is. |

%$#@!

With the way Henderson, Meachem, and Graham played, along with Moore coming back, we should be fine for the time being. More targets to PT and Sproles out the backfield. Arrington also played well towards the end of last year... this is one position I'm not that worried about, at least yet.
|
Not good.

Off topic, my son was named starting CB on his HS Freshman team, and the next practice (the last practice before game 1) broke his collarbone. He's out 6-8 weeks, which is probably most of the season. |
We have always said, as a group, that Drew makes our WRs appear to be better than they really are. It's the NFL. Somebody needs to step up - or we need to sign Randy Moss. Which shall it be? Hmmmmm......

He absolutely without question sucks. Billings/Tanner would add more to this team than that washed up malcontent moron. |
Done.
I broke my collarbone once and couldn't even feed myself for 8 weeks. Looks like he paid his Karma Debt for that fumble... Alaska |

Definately a bummer about Marques, but my faith is pretty strong in that we'll compensate for him being out.Randy Moss is from what I've heard and believe him to be is a one demensional type of reciever @ this stage in his career.
I've heard the talking heads say how he's never really been an intermediate route runner.Him and Devery on go routes would be hard to defend for sure! Then there's the character issues.Maybe he and T.o have seen the light.Who knows:confused: |
Can we legally bring back any of the receivers we cut without putting Marques on IR?
|
Saw this on the back of my milk carton this morning...

Vitamin D strengthens your bones.Just sayin'.Get well sooner than later Marques!:bng:
|
the long grab he made where they slam him in the turf is when it happened, he came up and pointed to the shoulder pad but smart enough not to take injury time out or game was over. turns out it was over anyway when we can't pop a freakin yard/ foot ever. come back soon m.c.

Colston Breaks Collarbone
Sean Payton divulged that Marcus Colston fractured his collarbone at the end of a reception in the 4th quarter of Thursday nights game with green bay. He is expected to be out at least 4 weeks.
Looks like we need to troll the wires... |
yahoo, that completes my weekend,,hmm were is my gun
|
Next man up - time for Devery, Meachem and AA to play strong.
|
Colston out, Moore in, not optimal, but we're fine. Let's not forget that apparently Sproles is going to beast mode the short yardage game with PT. We're friggin' dangerous. Green Bay is lucky as hell that they had EVERYTHING working in their favor. Our late game intensity was scaring them.
|
I really like Colston and think he will be missed. Regardless of how well Drew spreads the ball to his receivers that is one less person he has to spread the ball too and our offense likes to use lots o' targets.
