FWIW, my thoughts on Thursdays game.
While we all know the Saints were CAPABLE of winning, the emotion of playing a team their first game after winning a Super Bowl is a lot to overcome.
The Saints experiended it against the Colts, and then after we won our Super Bowl. I am not going to make excuses for the teams sloppy play and point out that we were without Will Smith and Lance Moore. Mainly because I don't think those 2 players would have made that much of a difference. I look at the loss this way: our weaknesses were exposed by a team that probably would have beaten the other 30 teams in the league as well anyway. If the Saints had played any of the other 30 teams like we played the Packers, we would have won. The offense looks like it is ready to play, although the loss of Colston will be hard to overcome, especially if Moore isn't healed enough to play yet. The O-line needs to block better, or Ingram is going to get stuffed more than a 13-year old girl's bra. We will see if our defense plays better against the Bears, a team which has always been a thorn in the Saints' side for years. I don't give a fat rat's a-s-s how well or poorly the Packers play the rest of the year; the Saints will improve each week and make it to the playoffs. I just hope the Packers have to play the NFCC game in the Superdome; then they will know the meaning of TRUE homefield advantage. |

Have to agree with most of what you stated, but

Probably some of those pinpoint passes wouldn't have been made with the added pressure from Smith?! Who knows, but it's clear that neither McBride or Charleston were able to create enough pressure on a constant manner. Luckily all signs point towards Da Bears' O-Line being even worse than they were last year. |

O line, D line. Need time to gel.
Are you kidding me? We absolutely missed not having our starting DE and WR. Don't worry guys, we'll see Randy Moss in B&G real soon... Did anyone EVER think that was possible?? lol |
