Sources claim Randy Moss seen at Saints facility{Speculation}

1 Attachment(s)
With starting Marques Colston now out for four weeks with a broken collarbone and Lance Moore's status still unknown with a groin injury, the New Orleans Saints are down to four healthy wide receivers. It isn't odd that they would start looking for a viable veteran to possibly step in for a few weeks and sources are saying that recently retired Randy Moss is one of them.

WWL is reporting that Moss is indeed a person of interest for the Saints as they deal with injuries to their wide receiving corps. Several sources are stating that Moss was indeed at the team's Airline Highway facility on Saturday, September 10, 2011.

Moss recently retired after 13 seasons in the NFL after most recently playing for the Tennessee Titans.

More on this story as it develops.

Sources claim WR Randy Moss has visited the New Orleans Saints facility - New Orleans New Orleans Saints | Examiner.com

Like I said before...bring him in, if he doesn't produce or starts complaining...cut him.

jnormand 09-10-2011 07:14 PM

No!!!

Pete 09-10-2011 07:16 PM

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!lol Well I guess we'll possibly see what he's got left!

hitta 09-10-2011 07:17 PM

It'd be incredibly ironic if won a ring with the Saints, especially since he worships the Patriots. With Colston out, I don't see what it can hurt. I really don't think Moss is near as bad as some of the other receivers as far as personality. If he's committed to sitting back and allowing Brees to do his thing, I don't see a problem. If he turns out to be a problem, just cut him. That is if he's still got something in the tank.

I agree... What the f-ck... Give Brees a guaranteed deep threat - even if he just draws coverage - It will open up the middle for the usual targets. His drama is less important than the fear he might create. Plus, He's grown. I could see SP sharing some juicy fruit with him.

Juan Kincaid is gonna find his arse in a sling over this if it doesn't materialize...

Speedy Ron 09-10-2011 09:45 PM

i would love this. he would get enough balls per game to satisfy him and we are a legitimate contender. LOVE IT

SmashMouth 09-10-2011 10:23 PM

Let's get him .... we don't have enough weapons on offense yet!

xan 09-10-2011 10:56 PM

And to think there was specious talk of banning me for suggesting making a play for Moss.

Hah. Y'all are gay, bandwagonning like this.

papz 09-10-2011 11:04 PM

Updating an earlier report, the Saints have emphatically denied having any interest in Randy Moss.

"Absolutely no truth to it." Saints GM Mickey Loomis told ESPN's Adam Schefter. "It's a made-up story. Zero to it." How WWLTV.com could get a story so wrong is unclear, but Loomis' statement is about as strong of a denial as you will ever get from a team. Put simply, Moss is not signing with the Saints and will remain retired.

I don't care if we sign Moss. It the staff feels we need him the I'm ok with it.

Awww.... I was startin to get excited like a little girl there for a moment...

SaintsRule11 09-11-2011 12:37 AM

I don't want someone who is washed up or a locker room cancer like Randy Moss. He quits on the field and I hate watching him do that.

I do not understand why Adrian Arrington is not being bumped up and given a chance to contribute to this team. If Payton doesn't trust him, okay that's fine, but then cut him. Why add him to the roster in the first place if you don't intend to use him? Not having a fourth wideout against the Packers was one of the reasons we lost.

Why is Sean Payton being so stubborn. This is all driving me insane.

And you know the best thing about him Strato?

But, I have to say that I don't think that signing him would be favorable to the Saints. There are better options available from inside and outside the team.

SaintPauly 09-11-2011 05:50 AM

Moss gives the Saints a freaking superstar WR. Like him or not, he was, and always has been the real deal. I sincerely hope, that they are hiding the truth, and that he really is in the easy. I would welcome him with open arms, and a clean slate. No matter what anyone here has to say about him. JMO....

SaintPauly 09-11-2011 05:51 AM

Sign Moss now! Before this season gets completely out of reach!

saintsfan1976 09-11-2011 07:05 AM

Called it

strato 09-11-2011 08:26 AM

Well any news on this?

Well J these stories seem to be untrue...so we might not see him anyway..i still think he would help us and play hard for Brees ...it would be his last shot at a ring..

Danno 09-11-2011 08:48 AM

Saint’s G.M. Mickey Loomis separately told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Saints aren’t interested in Moss. “There is absolutely no truth to it,” Loomis said. “It’s a made-up story, irresponsible reporting. There’s zero to it.”

There's a reason he's unemployed. He's a shadow of his former self. There are over 160 WR's currently playing in the NFL and he isn't one of them.

DrewDat 09-11-2011 10:06 AM

Lets Take him or T.O.!!!!

st thomas 09-11-2011 11:44 AM

if it were true moss would'nt take the shots colston gets out there. he would be there simply to drive a cb and a safety deep to let our ofense roll underneath. AA will now get that roll.

neugey 09-11-2011 08:24 PM

Megatron or maybe Dez Bryant are the new Randy. The past is the past, Randy is done.

st thomas 09-12-2011 12:08 PM

somebody needs to take the headliner down if there;s no truth to the rumor. if mickey says hogwash it needs to go.lol

Euphoria 09-12-2011 02:03 PM

I hate to say it.

As a replacement for Colston, it isn't a bad deal.

I do have major problems with Moss... locker room, can he actually run routes beside the deep route?

papz 09-12-2011 02:45 PM

I real question is, can he play SS?

gandhi1007 09-12-2011 07:50 PM

Give the dude (Moss) some D.O.T. orange gloves and let him run the deep route. Brees will find him. The guy doesn't have the single season record & 2nd on the all time list for nothing.
