Far & away, the best RB to ever don the black & gold. Once he smelled endzone, there was no denying him 6 pts. The thing about Deuce is that not only was he exceptional on the field.....he was one of the most outgoing & friendly athletes I've ever met. My 12 yr. old will still tell you his favorite Saint of all time was Deuce because he always talked to him.

And as for the "work ethic" comment......I don't know of anyone who would agree with that. Deuce isn't playing because of injury......not bad work ethic.

Deuce was notorious for NOT being a work out guy. Anyone with any knowledge of Deuce McAllister knows that. Its rumored he still doesn't know where the weight room is at Ole Miss.

I'm shocked that anyone who's followed Deuce's career doesn't know that.

"Work ethic" & being a gym guy are two completely different things. Deuce was always at camp & was routinely early for practices. That was the point. Not to mention......his "work ethic" always showed up every Sunday.

OK then, he didn't work out and take care of his body as he should have.
Whatever you want to call it, the bottom line is that if he had been more dedicated to working out, he probably could have lasted a lot longer than he did.

How about... he had a bad "work-out ethic"?

I loved Deuce, but I believe Danno must be correct on this one, regarding his working-out and staying in shape. His last couple of years he showed up at training camp looking like this guy...

What really impressed me about him was when I read an article about him where they said that because he was given the cold shoulder by Ricky Williams back in the day - he was adamant about welcoming Reggie Bush into the organization and helping him with anything he needed.

That sounds like a guy who takes the bitter things that lives sometimes hand out to each and everyone of us, and instead of carrying that baggage with him: he chooses to use those experiences to better himself.

I hope he would return to the Saints in a staff role some day...

I miss him too. He lives here in Madison, Ms. Or at least is here alot. My wife and I saw him a few weeks ago while we were out to dinner at AJ's. Not my favorite place in town but for some reason alot of people go there. As does Deuce. All that aside, He is NOT in football shape. I miss him also and told him so but he added that he feels the game has passed him by and he bought me a shot. He's just done. He is just living life right now and trying to hang on to whatever cash he has left which I don't think is much.

Deuce had terrible stats on 3rd/4th and short. That always surprised me.
