Delhomme vs. Brooks

While we\'re at it, can we list the players that Haslett got rid of since he came to NO that were either Pro Bowlers or on a playoff team (or both) since leaving, versus the guys we have signed that fit either of those two categories (NOT INCLUDING THE DRAFT - FREE AGENTS)?

This outta be laughable. Who wants to start?

Delhomme vs. Brooks

Oh jeez, NOT AGAIN!
1st off, if Jake was here we\'d still be an 8-8 team or worse.
If Brooks was in Carolina they\'d still be going superbowl.

Roaf? How can anyone argue with letting Roaf go considering all the facts. Salary cap hell, MEGA contract demands, Unhappy unproductive malcontent whose only hope at returning to a pro-bowl level was a change of scenery. Not to mention rumors of players sleeping with his wife.

Turley...sorry we upgraded that position with a better player at 1/2 the price.

Glover? Only player I see that we missed on.

Rickey? OK maybe we should\'ve let Deuce go instead?

I don\'t understand some people\'s logic...

If we let all these awesome players go elsewhere and replace them with Hacks, then it would appear we have no talent. If we have no talent then Haz and company must of coached their assses off to go 8-8 with no talent injury decimated team.

But I also hear that we should fire Haz for going 8-8 with a team full of talented players. I know I\'ve heard several say we have way too much talent on this team to go 8-8.

Which is it?

Delhomme vs. Brooks

Danno --

Some say it\'s all about coaching. Some of the very same ones says it\'s all Brooks fault. One in particular says that even tho it\'s all about coaching the Saints will go 12-4 next year in spite of the coaching. We must recognize the \"logic\" we\'re dealing with and move on.

On another note, I\'ll take a bite of that crow 08. I have nothing against Delhomme, but I do have to say he\'s got to be the QB on the luckiest team I have seen since the 1998 Pickering High Red Devels! LOL I doubt they\'ll beat New England in Houston, but the Gods do seem to be with \'em.

C'mon Man...

Delhomme vs. Brooks

Let me see,
Philly 33, New Orleans 20
Carolina 14, Philly 3
Seems to me if we had Carolina\'s defense we win 20-3.

Its CLEARLY obvious that Brooks is 6 points better than Jake. Right?
I think I\'ll start yet another topic on this...

New Orleans 13 , Dallas 7
Carolina 29 , Dallas 10

Delhomme vs. Brooks

I don\'t have a huge opinion on this topic either way. I have great confidence in Haslett to make this a mediocre team. So I don\'t think Delhomme would have taken us to the playoffs. At the same time, I don\'t think that Brooks would be taking the Panthers to the superbowl, he just screws up at crucial moments.

However, it seems like the entire argument boils down to this truth.
A. Delhomme is under-rated
B. Brooks is over-rated

Where this becomes problematic is with our front office (strange that this has been the common thread for the history of the franchise with the exception of the Finks years).

In short, the guy with this team (Hazlett) who is supposed to be able to recognize and develop talent can\'t do either.

Delhomme vs. Brooks

Crap, I said I wouldn\'t be lured into another one of these debates but here I go again.
I do not think that if Brooks was in Carolina that they would be going to the Superbowl. Delhomme has that special ability to rally players around him, to get them to go that extra mile for him to win a game. He had it in New Orleans, almost everytime he came in the game you could sense/see the team step up a notch. He added that spark to the offense that wasn\'t there before. Even now, when it\'s FINALLY his time, he\'s as humble as can be to the point others are trying to make him take some of the credit for making to the big game. But by the same token I don\'t think if he was still in New Orleans he would\'ve led us to the superbowl, playoffs most probably, but not the superbowl. The coaching in this organization is noe set up for winning consistently or tweaking this team to adjust to other teams weakness\'s. Unilt the current regime is finally ousted, (read next year) we are not going anywhere. Geaux Jake boy, you get all you can! You deserve it and I hope you get it!

Delhomme vs. Brooks

Where to begin? Instead of comparing Delhomme to Brooks, let\'s compare Delhomme to Peyton Manning.

Peyton has been in the league 6-years and has won 2-playoff games. Jake has been a starter for 1-year and has won 3-playoff games. Jake makes plays in crunch time and Peyton? Well...........Peyton defines the term CHOKE ARTIST. Peyton Manning threw 4-interceptions in the AFC championship game and he alone is responsible of the loss.

Now all of you Delhomme faithful -- Is Delhomme better than Peyton? According to all the logic that you use in the Brooks vs. Delhomme debates, that would be the case.
