NEW ORLEANS – For much of this past week, the buildup to the Saints’ Sunday home-opener against Chicago focused on avenging three straight Sean Payton-era losses to the Bears, one that stopped New Orleans a game short of the Super Bowl.
Those who follow the Who Dats have long memories and what they focused on was the disrespect Bears backers thrust their way in the 2006 NFC championship game. On Sunday, finally on home turf, the Saints returned serve for those losses, giving fans a 30-13 drubbing of the Bears – the biggest win in the series by either team since 2000, when New Orleans won by 21 points. The win was a big one, one New Orleans had been aiming for since the schedule came out. Full article below. Texans will be a tough out...we have to protect Drew ..they have a Dallas style attacking D-Line and a smart QB with the best receiver in the league and lethal running game..this will be a good test for both teams.

The Texans are no joke. They can run the ball and throw. We won't be able to pull a bunch of stunts like we did in the pre-season opener and get a way with it. We will have to play strait up, make sure we tackle, and try to keep them in 3rd and long. Their zone run blocking tore us a new hole in pre-season and they are licking their chops to control the line of scrimmage again. We can't let it happen. We can't make this a scoring contest. Our defense has to step it up, AGAIN.

What happened in the preseason will not happen next week. That game was irrelevant and insignificant.
I'm not the least bit afraid of them. As long as we play to our strength, Saints by a touchdown... at least. |
