Year of the Quarterback
ESPN has dedicated 2011 to examining one of the most crucial positions in all of sports -- the quarterback.
Year of the QB »

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees already has had an outstanding career. But he can put his name up with some of history’s elite quarterbacks if he throws one touchdown pass Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Brees currently has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 29 consecutive games. That’s the fourth-longest streak ever. But one more will tie Brees with Dan Marino for third place.

The record is 47, set by Johnny Unitas. Brett Favre is second with a 36-game span from that started in 2002 and ended in 2004.

Unitas and Marino already are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Favre will get there as soon as he’s eligible. If Brees can keep adding things like this his resume, he’ll be well on his way to the Hall of Fame.

Establishing the run early, scoring 7 in the red zone, Texas has no chance. Contain Tate and Johnson on D.
