The Power rankings are in and ESPN has us ranked #2 under a red hot Greenbay team just barely hanging on to it with Patriots trailing us, However Sprows has an issue with Saints being ranked so highly, the Saints ranking get's defended by another sports analyst in the same video.. Check out the video to see why and chime in with your opinion.
(To Watch the video click the link.) NFL Power Rankings: Week 4 - ESPN Video - ESPN 2011 Power Rankings: Week 4 RK (LW) TEAM REC COMMENT 1 (1) Packers 3-0 The return of a healthy Jermichael Finley gives the Packers a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. (Clayton) 2 (4) Saints 2-1 The Saints are 41 points ahead of their three-game scoring pace from 2010. (Sando) 3 (2) Patriots 2-1 Don't count on QB Tom Brady to throw four interceptions every week. (Walker) 4 (11) Lions 3-0 It's starting to look like the Lions have enough to finally make a playoff run. (Clayton) 5 (7) Ravens 2-1 When QB Joe Flacco (389 yards) plays well, the Ravens are as good as anyone. (Walker) 6 (16) Bills 3-0 Surprise! The AFC's last unbeaten team resides in Buffalo. (Walker) 7 (3) Jets 2-1 Jets are in a tough spot facing back-to-back road games against Ravens and Patriots. (Walker) 8 (5) Texans 2-1 The Steelers' offensive line struggled against Indy. The Texans' front should play big this week.(Kuharsky) Last edited by Saintswrath; 09-10-2013 at 05:56 AM.. |

He said basically the defense is suspect, the team is down in the second half and we have to depend on the passing game.
I don't disagree with that, but overrated? I think not. We've played 3 of the best teams in the NFL this seasaon (and yes Texans are very very good) and we knocked them out. So as far as their panzie ESPN power rankings... yeah he's a moron. |

I could care less what he thinks, or any other tool thinks about us. As long as we keep on winning that's the only thing that matters. Power ranking are really stupid anyway. It's just another way one of those dinks can justify a job, by giving them another thing to write about.

Though I highly disagree that we are overrated, as I think we are definitely in the top 3 teams in the NFL, I will say this; I think our defensive problems make us a little more inconsistent. Our team can make a few mistakes on offense, have to punt a couple of times, and our defense in the meantime may give up a few touchdowns and all of a sudden we are way behind. This is kind of what happened with the Texans. If we got a little more consistency from our defense, we'd be easily the best team in the league. Our defense at the beginning of that game compared to the end of the game was kind of like night and day.

The Saints will have to get better defensively and/or start creating turnovers to make a serious run at the Super Bowl. And I truly believe they will be better as the season goes along. But, the two good offenses they've faced so far has put up 75 on them. That isn't going to get it done. I love Brees and the offense but with the O-Line having issues and with the real possibility of having to play an outdoor game in the playoffs, if they can get through a tough division, it's just asking too much of the offense to win every game. The Saints are 0-2 on the road in the playoffs under Payton while in my opinion losing to less talented teams.
