Gator,

There were some very good points in there and some I don\'t totally agree with but I don\'t necessarily disagree with them either. Overall I\'d say you are pretty much on the money.

However, having Eli as a quarterback would not even begin to get us to the super bowl. The problem isn\'t with the QB. Coaching and defense is where this team is lacking and where it\'s been lacking for years.

If we are able to put together a defense like the Panthers, that would go a long way towards solving our problems. But then I still don\'t think that would put us over the hump because I believe our coaching isn\'t what it should be and I have serious doubts if Haslett can ever be the coach we need.

While I certainly believe that talent is a bigger part of the equasion than coaching, coaching does play a very big part. You don\'t have to be dominant in every phase of the game, but it sure helps to be dominant on either offense or defense, but not totally necessary. The Patriots proved it\'s not all about talent, but the Pats do have a very talented squad. Coaching is not the ONLY reason for the Pats success and to try to suggest that is a reach.

Bottom line is there are many ways to get to the super bowl. You can be so talented that it\'s hard for coaching to screw it up. You can be slightly above average and coaching can get you to the next level. We just need to have some kind of master plan on how we are to achieve our goal and I don\'t see that with this adminstration. We seem to be REACTIVE instead of PROACTIVE.

How about this - we cut TEBUCKY and sign Eli. T-sucky costs more than half of what AB costs, and that\'s a tragedy. That guy is number one on my cut/restructure list.

Billy C,

Notwithstanding your list, somehow, somewhere the Saints had better find a GOOD back-up to Duece!

BTW; I did not see Sullivan highlighted. Why?

Lastly, I personally see the potential with Donte, but his inability to stay healthy is of concern. Time to fish or cut bait time? Hmmmmnnnnnnnn

I put back-up running back on the top of the list for offensive needs. I made this list so we could all list our needs according to the way each of us sees it. With all the talk about Aaron Brooks it leads me to believe that some fans think QB is a big area of need. I thought it would be interesting to see how members of B&G see our TOTAL area of needs.

I did not list Sullivan as a big area of need, because I believe he will be fine and I feel the same way about Donte. Time will tell on those 2, but I think the safe money is that they will be fine.
