Slowing down Cam

We need our DT's to actually push the pocket and make him run outside.
Our DE's must contain Cam Newton and not let him get outside.
And the LBer's need a solid game if we are going to dictate the pace of this game.
GW will probably have a few things this rookie hasn't seen before.

We cannot give Cam a running game to work with. If we let them get some momentum by missing tackles, they will TRY to Stewart/Williams us to death, with Cammed Yams on roll outs for dessert. Throwing would become an after thought and made much easier for them if we ALLOW success on the ground. I think CAM would be happy throwing for measily 140 if he gets a win behind 200 on the ground. We need to own between the tackles, mix up the coverages, and force another 2 pics to go along with the 5 he's already thrown. A nice little pic-6 would make the young fella start to 2nd guess himself.

Stop Smith & worry abgout the run. We may need a dedicated person - their job will be to shadow Newton - no matter what!!

Rattle him. Contain him and Jar his brains out.

Hardcore use of Harper. Matter of fact, his shadow should be harper. Two linebackers plus Harper.

Terrorize him until he gets a tick.

Corners and DB's bumping at the ine. Interrupt routs.

None of this 10-yards-off-the-receiver crap and let's pursue after the catch. That's B.S.

Overall, let's not see what he's got, let's show him what WE GOT!

Cam is accurate but he does sometimes lock onto his receivers running over the middle. Some robber defenses and picks are what we need. Let Cam get his numbers and we can collect some turnovers and get the W.
