Not to dwell, but without the 1st play from scimmage INT and the gift FG at the end of the 1st half, we did not separate ourselves from the Panthers. We consistently made terrible mistakes and we didn't close out the red zone .

The Panthers gave any decent team a blueprint to win. We had only 4 possessions in the second half, one punt, one INT and a FG and a TD. Carolina kept Brees off the field, reducing the rhythm of the game and exploiting the consistently identifiable flaws in our Defense: bad pursuit, weak linebacking, poor tackling and poor judgment.

We beat the Bears (woopie), the Panties (woopie), and Jax (are they really a team?) Our only "quality win" is against a team that's arguably in the worst division in the league, and who lost to the Raiders at home.

Am I happy we're 4-1, sure. I am not satisfied with the performances, a BIG no. We marketed huge upgrades on defense and have regressed. Brees is still turning the ball over because the O-line is good for 2.4 seconds of protection, max and our running game looks like it was designed by a rugby scrum manager. We're teetering on the edge of a Seattle repeat every week.

Hobbes: "Common lament."

But the most important stat of all...is?.........a W..which we got..every game is tough...good teams like us find ways to win..look at the Packers..they were down 14 to 0 against Atlanta..and won..look at Detroit yes Detroit..down 20 plus to Dallas and won...were better than people realize..we have some injuries that hurt us as well..

Have faith we will be ok..i think most Saints fans are spoiled now..5 years ago we would be more than happy with a 3 point win over a division rival on the road..
