Looking to Tampa....

Ok, now that Carogina is over, for now, how about Tampa? They looked terrible against the 49ers today. WTH is going on with them? The niners not actually "known" for offense, put up a 40 burger on them today... I'm thinking, if they play like they did today, we should handle them easily. As a Saints fan, I have learned over the years to NEVER use the term "gimme game", but wow..... Will Tampa show up to play us or not?

mighty12 10-09-2011 10:52 PM

Uh, yeah they will. This is a divisional game. However, we seem to play better in Tampa. Let's just accelerate through games from now on. No more of this, go up 10-14 points and then give the game back to the opponent.

Crusader 10-10-2011 01:19 AM

Tampa is a good team, we need to come out and hit them in the mouth early to break their spirit. They will be posied for a turn-around after this weeks performance but if they struggle right out of the gate against us they might start to unravel.

dizzle88 10-10-2011 03:12 AM

We need to come straight out to a fast start, work sproles in there, keep the bucs on their heels, take a shot downfield but only if its open.

We need more turnovers, Blount is a difficult guy to stop and we always seem to let RB's run all over us.

I was impressed with Patrick Robinsons performance today, hopefully he keeps it going, 2 picks and a blocked PAT in 2 weeks is quite good going to be honest.

We need to get better at tackling, deangelo ran all over us, tampa is going to be tough next week but we can win if we play up to our potential

pherein 10-10-2011 03:54 AM

Tampa Bay, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy went down with what looked like a serious knee injury in the first half.

and we got soul

nutria 10-10-2011 07:56 AM

It all depends, will the Saints defense show up or will it be another nail biter??

papz 10-10-2011 08:00 AM

McCoy had a high ankle sprain. The Bucs just look their best defensive player for the next month.

Budsdrinker 10-10-2011 09:22 AM

We have to find some discipline on defense. The cut back run kills us everytime. We have to keep outside containment and force the runner back inside.

SmashMouth 10-10-2011 09:40 AM

We play Tampa twice in a three weeks stretch .... they won't be easy, especially since they got embarrassed by the FortyWhiners...

foreverfan 10-10-2011 09:40 AM

5-1

NOS2SB 10-10-2011 10:29 AM

We need to take a good look at what San Fran did on defense. Could help us out. I can't wait until we blow someone out like they did.

homerj07 10-10-2011 10:59 AM

A hiome/divisional game. The Sucs will be up for this & will want to try & make up for their absolute NO SHOW this weekend in San Fran.

We will need to be on the top of our game. We also need to change things up a littl eon the "O". Sproles is way TOOOOO MUCH of our offense!!

AlaskaSaints 10-10-2011 12:04 PM

We've NEVER been afforded a blowout like that one yesterday. I think our defense would actually benefit from torching a team like that. It would give them swagger.

Alaska

SaintPauly 10-10-2011 12:09 PM

A good question is, are the niners really that good?

Rugby Saint II 10-10-2011 02:26 PM

Tampa isn't going to roll over easily. These division games always seem to be tight.

alleycat_126 10-10-2011 02:43 PM

I didn't see Legarette Blount in that second half either he took a bad shot to the knee and was flipped anybody know his status!!!

Belair57 10-10-2011 03:02 PM

well if you got blount on your fantasy football team you should start him!! because even if hes hurt and sidelined for the game he will still get a 100 yards rushing against our defense!!. ..OK OK, thats my last debbie downer jab Im going to take at our defense this week.

xan 10-10-2011 03:07 PM

If the Niners can deuce out a giant 40 burger on them, minus a key d-lineman, I hope to whatever superior force that controls the universe that we can somehow figure out how to lay that same turd.

I mean, it's the Niners. A team that needs a flashlight to find the dark.

saintfan 10-10-2011 03:10 PM

As always, I'd like to see us get up early by enough to coast a little, but I doubt very seriously the Bucs will lay down for us. They never do.

There's always a first time for everything .... :p

Budsdrinker 10-10-2011 03:18 PM

I think Blount has a knee injury, will find out more info tomorrow and McCoy is out with high ankle sprain

I think we are going to get their absolute best game. They are home and losing this would be devastating for them. This will be a hard fought win

Oh yes, that helps. I like it

Mardigras9 10-10-2011 06:39 PM

They are going to play hard,
1. they still know they are in the hunt
2. they just got embarrassed
3. divisional game against the division leader
it will be a tough game, no doubt

Well the Cowgirls did beat them in San Fran...so i don't know if they are that good or what..lol

RaginCajun83 10-11-2011 09:50 AM

Buccs normally play the Saints tough so I could see this game going down to the last few minutes .... then again if SF can drop 40 on them, who knows what Drew could do, after being shell shocked like that, they will come out fighting so should be a good game

The real question is will the Saints defense show up???

Danno 10-11-2011 10:59 AM

If you thought the Carolina game got a bit testy, this could get fugly.

Yes, we dislike the Panthers.

We dislike the Bucs much more than the Panthers. Its not yet Falcon-hate, but its close.

If you like violent football, don't miss this one.

darstep 10-11-2011 11:21 AM

They may even take an "unsportman" or two to get themselves and the crowd fired up.
That can be squashed real easy by stacking up a few 7's.
They will pull out all the stops against us, as do all of our division opponents.
They got drilled Sunday and will want to take it out on us - if we let them.
Our defense needs to raise the bar, strap these guys; actually make the tackle when challenged.
Starting quick/early is not their queue to take a nap 3rd and 4th quarter,
then call on Brees to awaken so he can pull a rabbit out of the hat, AGAIN.
