METAIRIE - The Saints like where they are five games into the season, though they are nowhere near as dominant as they were in their Super Bowl championship season of 2009.
New Orleans is 4-1 alone atop the NFC South after rallying Sunday to beat Carolina 30-27 with a 6-yard touchdown toss from Drew Brees to Pierre Thomas in the final minute. New Orleans’ only loss was a 42-34 setback on opening night to defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay, and that game ended with the Saints a yard away from a potential tying touchdown and 2-point conversion. A victory Sunday at Tampa Bay (3-2) would give New Orleans a two-game cushion in the division at the end of a three-game road trip. “You begin to develop a personality each year, and it’s a little different from year to year,” Saints coach Sean Payton said. “A win like (Sunday) can do a lot in that it was hard-fought, we had to come back, and we had to be resilient. You gain confidence from that.” Full article below. Saints content with 4-1 start, development | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, LA Last edited by papz; 12-24-2011 at 07:46 PM.. |

Just be nice to not have to do it once and a while....come from behind on a game winning last drive that is.

“When the game’s on the line, we know we can put the ball in Drew’s hands and go score,” offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod said.
A lit fuse that's bound to blow if it keeps burning. Haven't we seen this enough to not want to see it any more? I know I have. Not that I want us to fall on our face when down late in the 4th. I want Drew to hand off with a 17 point lead, and throw on 3rd and 3 only as an option. |

Yet we just keep on winning. Green Bay got lucky to escape us undefeated. If that game was in New Orleans we'd be talking about Green Bay having a hangover. We played a mediocre game and walked away 1 score down.
No teams suck when they play us, and every team brings their A game. All very true. We still keep winning, because our best is always better. Two Dat! |
