this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I knew he had the title of OC, but i think his role is more of a consultant and Sean Payton is the guy pulling the strings They are all doing a great job though...

He's the real genius behind the play calling......pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Well I knew that was his title, but I don't know what his actual role in the offense play calling/designing is...
Anyway, he's the one you can see going over the polaroids with Brees every Sunday, so maybe his focus is on the QBs... but that would bring up a question about Joe Lombardi's contribution on the staff? |

I knew who he was. But I also know Payton calls the plays. The OC does more than just calls plays. The 1st 10-15 plays of each half are basically scripted. I'm sure he has a hand in those. He probably has more responsibility in preparation of the offense during the week for Sundays than anything. Drawing up plays etc. I honestly think he makes Payton look better......

He also makes the gatorade...
tests Payton's food before he eats any of it... is the emergency kicker... He used to be the guy who followed James Brown across the stage holding that cape. |
