Defensive coordinators facing the Saints should always have the problem of solving our backfield, let alone Drew and his arsenal. If we should http://209.85.12.234/7361/20/emo/quote-1smiley.giffocushttp://209.85.12.234/7361/20/emo/quote-1smiley.gif on a particular back, well......(insert a Miami Dolphins joke here____________________)

Am I the only one who doesn't think Ivory was all that and a bag of potato chips? Fourth best back on our roster IMO.

Yeah, I don't think he has that 'quality' that makes him a keeper, but he can be used in certain decoy packages. If Sean thinks he can contribute by all means, we use him. But he is not starter material to me.

Again for the ones who apparently missed last season.. anyone tell me we have a back that runs as hard and punishes defenders as much as Chris ..and i will ask you kindly to...pass the pipe.

Awesome!!! Unfortunately from what I've seen the punisher has yet to finish a game without getting hurt, and got injured while rehabbing a serious offseason injury.

Who exactly is the punisher?

I think that might change..im hoping anyway..because you know as well as i do ...if he does we have a one of the best backs in the league..

If he had the durability to last 16 games, I'd say he may be top 10 in the league.

If you include prone to injury in the comparison, he is the 4th best RB we have.

dasaints26 10-15-2011 10:30 AM

I think PT should be our #1 RB and get the majority of the carries. The main reason is he runs with alot of power and he always falls forward.

How about some stats. PT has 445 attempts and with only 3 fumbles I think I would want him carrying the ball as much as possible.

Dont understand all the injury prone talk either. In 08 and 09 he missed 3 games. 2010 was a serious injury that he never recovered from but that happens to RBs when they run as hard as PT.

lumm0x 10-15-2011 10:58 AM

PT with the most overall touches. Ingram with the most rushes. But frankly I am not scared of any touch by any of the 3 between Thomas, Ingram or Sproles. They all run and catch equally effectively. Ivory is the more one dimensional back. I like the 3 headed monster as well.

woody 10-16-2011 03:53 AM

if we're playing a defense with big run stuffers, i prefer getting the ball to sproles and pt in open space, but if they're playing soft to stop the pass let ingram and ivory run it down their throat. overall i like ingram's potential as an every down back the most though.

Crusader 10-19-2011 05:46 AM

I'm not crazy about the RB by comitte aproach, I think it prevents guys from getting into a rythm, I feel we're just switching packages and personel endlessly and that it makes it easier for defences to guess what we are gonna do. PT=Screens some runs. Ingram=runs, Sproles=runs on the outsides, passes. I'm not saying its a 100% like that but its getting that way.

Euphoria 10-19-2011 09:36 AM

I am debating this myself and I am seriously leaning towards PT.

He seems to be more of an every down back than anyone we have. I think Ingram is getting carries just to get reps and work on our blocking for him. Its more of a developmental thing.

What is nice is that when have Sproles on one end of the spectrum and then there is Ingram on the opposite in... then you have PT right in the middle of there styles.

With the play of our defense in order to win games we have to score 35-50 points a game which I think really should take Ingram out of the game.

It will be interesting when Ivory is back.

st thomas 10-19-2011 11:01 AM

the 35-50 points a game makes all the sense with the defense we have. the 35 point mark is whats needed to win the game on avg. unless its the packers then the 50 come's into affect. i agree with u eup.

AlaskaSaints 10-19-2011 11:41 AM

I want my Chris Ivory fix. Overdue.
He'll give us twice the production of Ingram at this point.

st thomas 10-19-2011 12:37 PM

its probably going to be a fullback cut to make room for ivory?

boonedocksaint 10-19-2011 12:58 PM

i voted for sproles, but, i hope we can get ivory some touches this week!!!!

Leading the team when PT was hurt most of the year and our other runner was Julius Jones.

Look I'm not hating on Ivory, but I don't think he's got a spot in the regular RB rotation on this team. Running hard and punishing defenders are nice, but that doesn't necessarily make a good back. I'd rather us give touches to PT and Ingram. Just my opinion.
