Which RB should get the most carries?
Since the subject of us over working Sproles has come up thought this would be a good way to see how everyone feels about our RBs...and their work loads or lack of..I included Ivory because i think he will see the field in the near future..
|
Depends on the situation.
|
I like our balanced running attack - the 3 headed or now 4 headed monster. As long as we get the yards and our rb's are happy with their role.
|
Generally speaking I'd say PT, but I agree with Danno. Who we're playing and the state of the game will always play into who's getting the most totes.
|
P.T.
|
Strato, that might be the sexiest nurse ever. That being said, I vote P.T.
|
I I I DON'T KNOW!!!! THERE'S, THERE'S SO MANY CHOICES!!! A PERSON COULD GO CRAZY THINKING ABOUT THIS!! AAAHHHHHHHHHH
|
I believe P.T is most dependable back.
|
Run whoever has the hot hand sort of speak but they should all get at least 10 touches a game.

I can't see a reason to change anything in our running game. There's been a series or two when I thought PT should have gotten a few more touches, but overall I'm pleased with the running game.
Good question Strato,... I'm going to get a glass of milk.. odd sudden urge. |

I don't know but I need to be checked for a hernia...
Strato... heehee Alaska |
So far our most productive back has been Sproles.......I don't see any reason to change. Of course we want him healthy toward the end of the season and maybe the other backs should get more carries, but Sproles is hot!!!!
|
This is just like power rankings, but with Saints RB's.

I love what sproles brings, but whatever is working.
|
We need to have PT healthy for the playoffs.
|
Jed Collins! LOL

Did you say Jed?...lol |
I agree with Danno it totally depends on the situation. If you're looking for short yardage, it's Ingram. Pierre excels in the screen game, and Darren is a fantastic slot receiver (better than Reggie ever was imho). Maybe a better question to ask is which running back should get the most touches?
In any case, I'm very skeptical about giving Chris Ivory a big workload. Our running game is working very well, and I hope they work Ivory back in gradually. Then again, he torched the Bucs last season, so who knows. In any case, I believe we have the scariest running back corps in the NFL!!!! |
I would love to see Mark Ingram crank out 25 carries. I am very interested to see how he would do in a full game. But honestly, I say keep things as is for now, all three have their specific rolls and all seem to be doing well.
|
23, natch.
|
Sproles deserves every carry he gets. But, if he goes down, the Saints would lose it's most versatile playmaker. Thomas looks healthy and happy and is one of the best screen guys I've ever seen. But, he hasn't made it through a complete season yet. Ingram seems to get better the more carries he gets. I personally would feed him and work the other guys in. His upside is greater than the other two. I just hope Ivory is active when the playoffs roll around. A pounder/short yardage specialist could be the difference in the Saints making it back to the Super Bowl. Especially if it comes down to a very cold day in January in Breen Bay.

I'm just glad we have this problem, certainly a change from last year. Agree with situational however.
|
AHHHH jcp - even a sexy clown is still a icky clown!!
That being said - whoever needs to run the ball should run the ball even if that is COllins or Graham!! |
With the good weather in outdoor stadiums and the games in the domes having ideal situations for a superior passing offense, I think that all three backs have been used quite well. We'll enjoy four healthy backs for when the weather slows the Saints passing game down. The weather in Green Bay is miserable in January you know.
Sproles is the hot player now. I hope that he stays hot but if his production wanes I have confidence that any of the other backs can build momentum and take over games. Personally, I love all these guys but PT is my guy. He and Colston are great players that play within the system without any desire for attention. |

I think most posters just wanted him on the field..thats a tribute to him being liked ..and needed. |

True, however claiming he was faking his injury was not needed, nor liked. |
As enticing it is to watch Ingram and Sproles 1-2 punch, I'd rather see P.T. more.
|
OH I think PT is the #1 Running Back. Ingram is good, but he hasn't done anything to take that Job from Thomas.
I almost don't count Sproles. He's the wildcard. |
Only 2 votes for Ingram.
Obviously Payton disagrees |

If there was one, I'd say PT. Not just because he is such a tough runner and always seems to get yards after contact, but running him more sets up the screen, and I'm still convinced he's the best screen running back in the NFL.
Second I'd take Ingram. Guy is a rookie and one heckuva runner inside the tackles. Third would be Sproles. Love the guy, but think he's best suited when he's changing the pace. In reality though, all three are good runners and I would like to see them all get more touches... that is if our OL stops being weak sauce. Our interior line is overrated this season. |

Not according to Canton...they are the best in the business..not opening holes on 3rd and one proves your point..Ivory and Brees made em look good last year.. |
