this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Lemme clear it up. Top 5, 10, or less (starter salary -- whatever that may be) YOU say teams need to look for a cheap alternative to the QB position rather than look for a \"flashy\" guy with great numbers, ...

So by that statement above are you trying to tell me that Jake Delhomme is now a \"flashy guy with great numbers\"??? Seems to me that you\'ve been arguing the opposite all year. Should the Panthers renegociate with Delhomme? Damn right - they could QUADRUPLE his salary and he\'d still only be paid an average starting QB salary... oh, and he\'d still be $20 million less expensive than Aaron Brooks. That\'s right AB costs the Saints NINE times what Delhomme costs the Panthers. Are you gonna tell me Brooks is NINE times more important to the Saints as Delhomme is to Carolina? See, you and Billy continue to polarize the issue. Never have I been against paying a guy for his value. I think teams should find an average QB and pay him average QB money. Maybe they get lucky and find a steal a la Jake Delhomme. At least I can make an argument. Can you give me ONE SINGLE reason to justify Brooks\' $36 million salary? Please, show me why Brooks is in fact worth that much to this team. $1,000 says he skirts the issue. Any takers? |
