What the Superbowl Showed me...

1. I think Jake is a really good QB, for whatever system you want to run. I previously thought he was just a "don't lose it for us" type QB but as the season progressed he developed into a "he can win it if he has to" QB. There are 32 teams the kid can play for, and play well.

2. I still think Brooks is a better QB, but the gap has closed significantly.

3. I think Brooks has to go now. Not because of his skills, but because there are so many Saints fans that are even more bitter today and will remain bitter until Brooks is gone. The boos will get louder and more frequent. Unless we open 6-2 next year, Brooks will be the whipping boy for every mistake this team makes. Its gonna get UGLY.

4. Mushin Muhammed, Steve Smith, and Rickey Prohel are better than Horn, Stallworth, and Pathon. Our WR's are over-rated big time. I now see why a new WR coach was brought in. Our WR's are better on paper and potential, but I'll take the 3 in Carolina right now.

5. Julius Peppers is no way 3 times better than Charles Grant, as their salaries indicate.

6. We have the 3rd best coach in our division, and that's debatable.

7. New England (with 4 picks in the 1st two rounds in 2004) will be good for a very very long time.

8. Carolina's secondary isn't much better than what we have. But they are only one shut-down corner and a decent LB away from not having a weakness on defense.
We are 3 players from having a dominant defense. They are 2 players from going from Dominant to phenominal.

9. Steven Davis is not better than Deuce McAllister. But Carolina has a better backfield than we do top to bottom, including fullbacks. But we don't have a fullback, we have a blocking back.

Agreed Danno, with the exception of points 3 and 6.

I don\'t think Brooks has to go anywhere. I agree that the Saints fans are on him, and that Delhomme\'s success only makes it worse, but fans are fickle that way, and a string of wins will change all that. There are certain people out there (Saintz08) who\'s love for Delhomme won\'t allow \'em to EVER like Brooks, but that\'s beside the point really.

I guess I can\'t say I really disagree with #6, cause it is, in fact, debatable.
