Ivory On the 53

Saints swap Chris Ivory for Mark Ingram - NFC South Blog - ESPN

Quote:

Rookie running back Mark Ingram will miss Sunday’s game with St. Louis because of an injured right heel, coach Sean Payton said. Ingram has not practiced this week. As expected, Payton also said this means the Saints will put Chris Ivory on the 53-man roster.

Luda34 10-28-2011 01:55 PM

good

Srgt. Hulka 10-28-2011 01:56 PM

Damn. I really wanted Ingraham to play.
OK, we'll save him for the Suckaneers and the Caddiemen.
Ivory will light the Lambs up this weekend!

Beastmode 10-28-2011 02:24 PM

The article made a valid point, it will still likely be PT and Sproles getting more work. I'm thinking unless a solid lead is established, Ivory may not even get a carry.

saintfan 10-28-2011 02:51 PM

Yeah. He might get a carry or three to give PT or Sproles a quick break, but I"m not expecting to see him much.

Then again, I have a talent for being way wrong about these things...

AllSaints 10-28-2011 03:15 PM

Im hope we get to See Ivory do sum damage !

strato 10-28-2011 03:16 PM

Championship!

xan 10-28-2011 03:31 PM

So, who gets waived? I don't see them putting Ingram on the IR, so, who's gone?

realheavyd 10-28-2011 04:02 PM

Who gets released from the active roster to make room for Chris Ivory?

A. McQuistan, Pat T
B. Herring, Will LB
C. Arrington, Adrian WR
D. Gilmore, John TE

My vote is Gilmore right now. We just resigned Tory Humphrey at TE, so that kind of puts the writing on the wall for the release of Gilmore for being woefully ineffective since he's been here, in my mind at least. What say you?

Still no official word, I've been looking. Isn't Graham kinda hurt?

AlaskaSaints 10-28-2011 05:52 PM

Ivory went out in a blaze of glory last year.
At that point he was averaging 5.2 yards per.
You won't have to see him alot for him to make a difference.

One "touch" at a time is all it takes.

If he runs like last year, Ingram will keep his spot on the bench warm for a while. I appreciate Ingram, but he's no Chris Ivory.

Graham will wrap his ankle and go in this game, though he's nowhere near 100% at all, but with him and Humphrey in the game, we should be fine at TE. Dave Thomas is questionable still with his concussion.

Nothing we did not expect. Any word on who was cut??

Still nothing that I have seen yet. They'll wait until late tomorrow night to make the announcement, I'm sure.

pherein 10-28-2011 10:22 PM

God I love our Team Depth !
Sit and rest Ingram, we have another 5.2 ypc runner to take your place till you feel better :)

FireVenturi 10-28-2011 10:32 PM

Ivory may get 4 or 5 carries in my opinion. Short yardage and goaline

QBREES9 10-28-2011 11:43 PM

Ok Chris get out their and have a GAME

Cruize 10-29-2011 07:13 AM

We all know he runs hard. But his feet, vision, and acceleration are the abilities that makes him so special. Stay healthy young man.

realheavyd 10-29-2011 10:20 PM

So, did y'all see? Tory Humphrey, who was just signed to the active roster 3 days ago, was released to make room for Chris Ivory by the Saints today.

DrewDat 10-29-2011 10:23 PM

Tory Humphrey Got Released

AlaskaSaints 10-30-2011 08:53 AM

Just because the ball is snapped and only short yardage is needed for a first down, don't think that will be the only thing on Chris Ivory's mind. He breaks tackles and is not top-heavy like someone else I know...

Have a great game, guys!

He cant get no yards if he don't get the ball..
