Actually our pass defense I think secondary is a lot better. We have CB's who can play. A couple who are coming along nicely.
We just can't get a dominate / consistant pass rush. EVERYTHING starts with the pass rush. If the QB knows he's got to get rid of the ball he'll rush the throw and our DB's can jump the routes. No pass rush means no jumping routes and we'll give up yards in passing and little to no INT's. Simple. Our DE's and OLB are crap. They are getting blocked consistantly and not fighting through the blocks. Then they are having to chase down runners they make poor tackling techniques. |

But thats why we drafted Jordan, Wilson, and Romeus and signed McBride, Franklin, Johnson and Rogers and are developing promising young players like Galette and Casillas. It hasn't worked out like we'd hoped yet but at least they know where our problems are and are doing something about it. I remember a previous regime that ignored gaping holes year after year. Good LB's can be had in the middle rounds, so look for us to address it again in next years draft. |

You can only ask you D to do so much.
1 TD was a pick 6 Brees had an INT in the 2nd quarter that gave the rams short field. Rams had a blocked punt, that set the rams up on a short field. The saints had less the 100 yards on offense at half time, that is absolutely terrible. The D played well enough to win, the O did not. |
