Saints fans gut check..

We got be by a 1-6 team with virtually no chance of making the playoffs. It was a painful loss without question. Here's the thing though, the Saints are still in the division hunt, right in it, heading into two huge games. And the only real front runner in the conference are the Packers with much football left to play. Anything can happen. With that said...

Things the Saints are going to have to work on; being predictable. The offense is becoming too methodical. Flee flicker, double reverse, something to keep defenses from charging Brees. The screens are not enough. It's time to open up the play book.

Turnovers. We have to have them. Batting the ball down is simply not enough or gesturing almost had that one. They are there. Get it and get off the field. Greer and Robinson each had one today go right through their hands. I know they can't grab every single one but when they can get two hands on it there is no excuse.

Getting more creative with the play calling and getting a turnover when it's there, if they can do that they can win the division.

The line has got to protect Drew better... Even before Brown was hurt today, he was getting schooled on his side. Bushrod also.... I don't know what was up with the line today. Just read where Nicks got into it with the line coach on the sideline.... Wonder what that was about anyway...

Lol, totally agree. We looked out of funk today. The RAMS, really?!

SaintPauly 10-30-2011 11:19 PM

I'm gonna see if I can find anything on this fight between Nicks and the line coach....

This pissed me off more than our sloppy playing. Brees was on his back more than Jay Cutler and a hooker combined. O-Line needs to step it up!

Marlboro Man 10-31-2011 12:53 AM

Does anybody believe me NOW about Bushrod???? The guy is a complete waste. Making a name for himself?? Like what turnstile, wiff artist, this line is in real trouble and I don't know if it can be fixed this year or not. If any of you want to hold out hope of the playoffs LOL, go for it, but it's not gonna happen. People get mad when the rams fans still call us the Aint's, well until we Aint the Aint's we can't say anything. This game was a joke, worse even than the loss to the bucs and the sad thing is, the joke is on us, the fans.

dizzle88 10-31-2011 04:31 AM

I really don't know what happened to our line, I'd rather us have paid jamaal brown than let him go, not being funny but that guy never got beat by anybody.
I read a stat about 3 weeks ago that Bushrod has allowed 17 sacks in 31 starts, I wonder how many it is now? They need to do something about this mess, where was our running game against the worse ranked defense in the league?

Saintswrath 10-31-2011 05:09 AM

The Ram's Raped us and took our dignity..

I feel shelled out right now.. And Ram's were 0-6 not 1-6 their 1-6 now thanks to Saints giving them what might be their ONLY win the entire season.

you type stutter SW? lol

Danno 10-31-2011 08:15 AM

We do this every year.

Last year - we lost to Cleveland and Arizona, and then Seattle.

In 2009 (you know, the year we won it all) we lost to a 3-13 Tampa team.

This should be no shock to anyone. Drew and company lay an egg or two every year.

We're still one of the best teams in the NFL. Deal with it you bunch of whiney-ass Nancy boys. :p

JoanieNTX 10-31-2011 09:48 AM

Y'all know you're not "going anywhere", so we might as well suck it up and take this loss and move on. Can't turn back time like I wanted to do yesterday and "start the game over." Saints are a good team....with holes to fill, but that's the way it is. We came out MAJOR flat with NO emotion; the Scams came out all pumped up with crazy fans leftover from baseball. :( Lots of intangibles. So we enjoy Domefield advantage next week, after the last 4 out of 5 games have been away games, and we go from there. :) Yeah, I'm bummed, too, but I "ain't" goin' nowhere! ;)

I'm really glad that the Saints finally won the Super Bowl. I was not sure that I'd ever live to see it.

I'm glad that I lived to see it happen.

I blame Strato for not making any pre-games speeches this year.

Hey There Mr. Old Timer.
Did you happen to see my Tulane Stadium Thread a while back? Something tells me you might have a story or two.

The real end result of yesterday might be that our guys will be freezing their huevos off on january 22nd, saying to themselves,
"I swear to God we will NEVER let a bad team beat us again!"

Euphoria 10-31-2011 04:38 PM

Obviously they didn't learn the lesson the first time when they were in Chicago in January a few years ago.

GAwhodat 10-31-2011 04:43 PM

God I just hope we don't lay one of those eggs and lose to the Falcants. I'm not gonna be able to leave my Atlanta home for a month.. LOL. But we lose to sucky teams more readily than we do to teams we are underdogs. Been that way forever it seems.

crawgator 10-31-2011 04:56 PM

It seems like what was said earlier we do this every year. and it's usually just before a big game... we have a let down, don't get focused, or whatever..
I played for an Undefeated team one time.. The only way we accomplished that goal was taking it one game at a time... It didn't matter if the team we was playing was 0-6 or 6-0, we focused on the game at hand... It seems Like the Saints loose focus on the games they are supposed to win.. Maybe if they had to sacrifice their paycheck for a loss.. They would stay focused.. Because some of the guys sure didn't play like they deserved a paycheck.....

But the season is long, we are only half way through and we are 5-3.. So lets suck it up. Make the adjustments that need to be made, and finish this season as a winner... Cause that's what the Saint's and the City of New Orleans is. It's the city of winners, of Champions...
