Here's my two cents...
First off. Let me state that I was not able to watch the game. I had to follow it on my cell phone.
A lot of good points have been brought up here in the past 15 hours. So here is what I feel happened. The Saints got beat. The Colts win gave the team a big head Play calling Greg Williams Defense sucks WTF Offense Game Prep Game Plan Execution St Louis' pride and will to win Some fan did something outta the norm and jinxed us While all of these are good reasons and there are a million more. I feel there is one more. The Rams are an NFL Team, with 56 PRO FOOTBALL PLAYERS. The Saints played another NFL Team full of 1%er Football players. Does it suck that they lost to the Rams? Hell yeah it does! If you didn't feel anger about the loss, you're not a Saints fan. We have realize that at some point we have to take the "Homer" Glasses off and realize there has only been one team; ONE TEAM, that has gone undefeated in the NFL. I do not expect it to ever happen again. While this loss blows donkey.... it's just something that happens in the NFL. Besides, look at it this way.....we could be Cowboy fans. |

Well said. But for the Saints to be anchored in the "elite" status, they have to beat teams that are clearly inferior to them.
The Rams held the Packers scoreless for a half; but the glaring difference is the Packers WON!! |

The Ravens and Giants fell behind like we did to inferior teams, made adjustments, and ended up winning. We didn't get it done in any aspect. Brees ran for his life all day and our run game when they tried was ineffective. The Ram D looked like a top 3 D. All we can do is learn from it and make our push for the division. Green Bay struggled all year last and made their run when it counted, and we will too.

Wanted to add to the original point...
Just remember that the Rams were one of the heavy favorites to win their division and turn things around this season prior to the year. Looking at their record one would think we lost to a horrific football team... but they are not lacking talent by any means. Spags has always been a master at getting pressure with his front 4.... and it showed on Sunday. |

We need lots of luck, prayer, or someone to whip us up a potion if we are going to have good success going forward. |

Over the years I have watched a lot of Saints football... And it seems like games like this always seems to bite us in the ass.. Like I heard one of the announcers say in yesterdays game.. We may be a good team, but we won't be a great team until we can win the games that we are supposed to win..
Sometimes we wonder why we don't get Home field advantage, and end up going to Seattle last year and end up getting our asses whooped... Every week you need to be prepared to play this game, or you will end up getting your ass handed to you.. To me when we play games like this our game plan is totally different then when we play the big games.. Also our highly rated Offensive line, played like crap yesterday, No consistency there at all... Missed assignments, Injury, and well just plain lack of blocking, kept our offense out of sinc... Can't blame this game on our defense, it played ok. It was put into some bad situations. and bad field positions.. Stephen Jackson played like a Beast yesterday. I think if he played 1 on 11 he would have gained the yards he did.. He played with a lot of heart on that field yesterday. Something the Saints lacked... GEAUX SAINTS!!!!! |

Obviously the hype about not overlooking the Rams was just that Hype. The Saints were not ready to play and I think they may have been looking ahead and preparing for the Bucks. Got their A#@ handed to them. I also disagree the defense did not play well either and a lot of this was defensive issues that we have seen in almost every game this year. You are not going to go far in the playoffs with a defense like we have period.
