Lemme say this: I know that the book at the beginning of the season told us that the Saints have the "best two guards in the league", but, reality always trumps the book. They don't look like the best two guards right now, but, not only that: the O Line Tackles are weak. The O Line is weak. If there are no holes to run through, you need an Earl Campbell to MAKE the hole, and the Saints don't have anybody like that on the roster.![]()
Defensively? We know all about the Saints defense. It's not going to win games for you. So, I'm saying that in my humble opinion, the Saints are in trouble, because they just don't have the horses. They have one Secretariat, and that's Drew Brees. Jimmy Graham is a thoroughbred, and there are one or two others. The rest of the roster has lots of nags. So, I don't think you'll see the Saints running game get going this season. If they were capable of it, we'd see it already. They aren't capable of it. Just my take on it. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm just judging on what I see now that half the regular season is over. |
