problems at the Tackle spot

Everyone,

I was in absolute shock as everyone else was but I gotta say the problems I see are much more specific than I've been reading on the net.

To me it comes down to the O-line and specifically to the Tackles. The Guards for the most part were fine, the new Center is serviceable. But damn we got ate up on the edge with our Tackles. Brown/Bushrod.

That led to everything else. It led to the lack of a run game, very little time for Brees to find #2 & #3 and him having to hurry other throws (never good), the O coming off the field way too quickly and then in turn the D' having to be out there too long.

Fix that, and you have a different outcome yesterday, and probably a much different record this year.

One question, are our starting tackles also in on punts? B/C if they blew that protection then it just bolsters my argument. I can't find anywhere that shows who the punt personnel is though so I'm not sure.

Thanks!

Your on the same bus as most of us. It is just mind boggling how we can play a team with the best DE combo in the league and not let them get any sacks and then play the worst defense in the NFL and get humiliated. It was a sad day.

We had a backup safety trying to block a starting DE and he whiffed which led to the blocked punt. Should be a fullback or backup TE in that spot.

Dr. Jeckle or Mr. Hyde?
From week to week, we don't know who is going to show up to play.
No consistency.
It's really frustrating.

I think if they play that way again, we want be the ones calling for their heads, the men upstairs with the fuzzy n*** will. If that don't light a fire under their tails, let them ride the pine.

Our defense has been exposed before this and we saw the lack of effort and wiffing on tackles that we have seen in a lot of the games this year. Poor excuse of a defensive line. I also agree with the offensive line at the tackle position but I believe it in general the whole offensive line just could not get it right. I don't care if it is Brees or Brady or whoever was back there you get in their face like the Rams did and it is all but over.

Tackles are the definite weakspot, need the tightends to get more involved.

I've been barking about the OLINE for years. Nothing new to me. Drew makes them "grade" better than they really are. This is not a new problem, rather it's one we've been masking for years now.
