this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Great game. Great intensity. Crappy officiating, as usual. We came out on a mission. Both lines played great. The million dollar question...can we do this again next week? We have responded to loss's in ways like this and followed up ...

Just watched the game
Great game. Great intensity. Crappy officiating, as usual. We came out on a mission. Both lines played great.
The million dollar question...can we do this again next week? We have responded to loss's in ways like this and followed up with a weak effort the next game. Major props to coaching staff!! Bring the wood!!! This IMO is what has been missing all year. I don't care what you have to do to motivate these men, DO IT!! This is the time when the great teams separate themselves, lets not stop now! Who Dat!!! |

Yeah just been bad officiating so much more this year it seems.
The one Passing interference on Torrance was total BS actually it should have been called the other way. Yes he had his back to the QB but he didn't make contact... WR was the first to make contact. |

I agree! The officiating just wears me out! It's like they just pick, pick, pick on us....and funny, did anyone else notice how at the beginning of the game when the network showed the head ref's name, underneath it had "12 years with the NFL"....ummmm, well, obviously time served does not mean experience gained in this instance! Call on Torrence was absolutely ridiculous.

Officiating has gotten worse since instant replay has come to light. This year reviews are controlled in the booth and honestly it's gotten even worse.
They need to decide whether the officials are just mindless drones on the field to start and stop play and ALL the calls, including flags, are made from the booth OR they'll just put it back in a better place. I think we're losing something in the game because of instant replay. |

I can't remember a game where I thought we got the calls. I can't remember saying "wow, we got away with one there".
If the bad calls allegedly even out, we're in for an excellent 2nd half of the season. |

It sure doesn't seem like it sometimes. Now if I can somehow make my son's school board do the same thing with his teachers......... He has had some nut-cases over the years. Damn Unions! |

I find it difficult to blame the refs. I flip through most of the games on Sundays (DirecTV is expensive but sweet) and I see "bad" calls all over the place.
The NFL is policing things and the Refs are on the front lines. Different crews have tendencies all their own, but we're dealing with humans trying to make split second calls on ticky-tack stuff the league has mandated. |

It is ironic.
But officiating has gotten worse. There have always been bad calls but long ago, before replay, everyone just dealt with it. They reset the ball and replayed the down etc. Now, I've seen whole games held up until decisions are made from watching replays on TV. Funniest part? THEY GET THE DAMN REPLAYS WRONG AFTER SITTING THERE AND WATCHING IT FOR 5 MINUTES AND HAVE TO ISSUE AN APOLOGY THE NEXT DAY!!!!! As for the Saints, I think we see what everyone else in America sees - we all see our teams getting bad calls against them. From New Orleans to Arizona to Jacksonville to Green Bay to Denver to New England - which Fans really do believe calls go their way??? I think none. |
