After looking at some of his highlights and his college career breakdown I cant see any reason why Williams hasn't worked him into the defense. Look at these numbers:

COLLEGE CAREER – A physical cornerback, who aggressively battles receivers and displays awareness in coverage, Patrick was instrumental in helping turn around a struggling Louisville secondary that was one of the nation’s elite units by the time he departed. As a senior, he was an All-Big East Conference first-team selection after recording 49 tackles, one sack, 6.5 stops for a loss, five interceptions and 12 pass defenses. For his career, he appeared in 46 games with 40 starts and recorded 171 tackles with nine interceptions, 22 pass defenses, one sack, 11.5 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also displayed acumen on special teams, with two blocked field goals and one blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown.
