Vick), but I do think that it was a serious miscalculation to basically give up their whole draft for just one player, because they had many other holes to fill also. And Dimitroff himself said in an interview on draft day that they chose this approach because Foolio was the one player in the draft who they felt would make their offense complete and allow Matty Lice to have the option of stretching the field, which had been one of the bigger criticisms made against the Failclowns offense over the past couple of seasons... and I guess they saw it as one of the bigger reasons to why they went down in the playoffs last time around. Trading away your whole draft for one single player is a gamble at the best of times, and it usually doesn't really work out... a concept the Saints' fans are more than familiar with. |
