Hoping its not IR bad..get well J.V a true warrior!
|
probably a clean-out procedure, 2-4 weeks out? just speculating
|
Get Well Vilma, lets hope he's back for their push to the Superbowl
|
Piss Willy!!
|
Next man up. I hope Dunbar can step up. I was relatively confident he could, until yesterday. It seemed like we were confused, and out of position multiple times throughout the day. Was that a Williams thing, or more a lack of Vilma -like defensive leadership? Whatever it was, it wasn't pretty.

Everytime Matty called an audible, regardless of what it was, Dunbar threw up his hands and DB's scattered like roaches when the lights came on. Then Matty politely handed the ball off to his running back and the chains went scurrying down the sideline.
Dunbar skill - Average to above. Dunbar perception of offense - Not leadership level. But, like others, he's what we got. Last year running backs were our Achilles' heel. This year; linebackers. Alaska |
Shanle will be more valuable than ever now..lol..laugh if you want.. but its true..

Now I dunno, but I reckon the gameday captain was probably Will Smith or Shanle. As you say, Dunbar is what he is. He ain't no Vilma, but heck that is true of many a player. |
Martez Wilson...
...you are the next player on the depth chart... ...come on down... ...and earn your paycheck... |

Yep..and Dunbar caused that 4th down. |

It's really Shanle who is the genius, but because of Vilma's dominance he's been overlooked and will now get his day in the sun. He will captain the defense and lead us to another Superbowl Championship!!! You could be onto something, strato! But, picturing the meeting in G.W.'s office: "Scott. Your number is up, son. We need you to lead the defense now that Jonathan is out..." The handsome, bald, Scott stands motionless, staring out the window at the drizzling rain, intently rolling around the carefully-plucked booger between his index finger and thumb... "AAAhhhh... What was that, coach?" LOL Alaska |

Ha Ha real funny...Shanle actually knows the D as well as Vilma..so im sure he will help Dunbar...you can bank on that...;) |
Dunbar has got (don't know for sure) to be physically faster than Shanle, so why not move Shanle to the middle and Dunbar to the outside?
Maybe...? I don't know... But one thing's for sure: I coach one hell of a team from my laptop here on my couch in front of a fire in Anchorage, Alaska!!!!!!! LOL Alaska |
Its tough to call audibles when he hasn't been the starter, he needs a bit of time before he gets up to speed with what audibles to call in certain situations.
Lets not forget that Vilma is probably one of the smartest LB's out there and can even outsmart Drew in Training Camp drills. Dunbar will get there, he is going to get a lot more time to develop now that Vilma isn't healthy. He will get better, but i think he played pretty well to be fair. |
Get well Vilma. Oh no.
|
I will say this: Shanle, Dunbar, and Harper will at least tackle, consistently. Thats more than I can say for the rest of them. And Shanle does know our D better than anyone else. Dunbar is starting to play good. I think he's hungry, fast, and mean. I would like him to stay there for a while.
